Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn’s husband charged with child abuse and assault following arrest in March

Christian Richard was reprimanded by the Los Angeles Police Department in March

Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn’s ex-husband Christian Richard has been charged with assault following his arrest earlier this year.

On March 19, the 45-year-old was reprimanded and led out of his home by the Los Angeles Police Department due to an alleged domestic violence incident.

Officers claimed he threw a bag containing a glass bottle at his 35-year-old wife Christine, but it missed her and struck their two-year-old son, also called Christian, instead.

Following the altercation, the Selling Sunset star took out an emergency protective order against her former spouse.

However, he allegedly violated this order after he returned to their home.

Upon his alleged arrival at the property in the Hollywood Hills, he was arrested for a second time, as per the MailOnline.

Now, in a new update, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office confirmed that Christian - who also goes by Christian Dumontet - has been charged with three misdemeanours.

He is now facing trial for child abuse/endangerment, assault and violation of a protective order.

Jacqueline Sparagna, Christine’s attorney, told the publication that she and her client were ‘extremely satisfied with the decision’ to file ‘three separate charges’.

“He has now been formally charged with child abuse against his 2-year-old toddler, assault against Christine Quinn, and for violating a restraining order,” the attorney wrote.

“We believe this development is a crucial step toward safeguarding the legal and personal interests of both victims and trust that that the matter will continue to be handled with the utmost seriousness it deserves.”

According to reports, Christian was reprimanded by the LAPD while wearing a bathrobe following the alleged domestic dispute.

It was also claimed that the retired tech millionaire was being held on a $30,000 jail bond.

Speaking about the arrest earlier this year, spokesperson for the LAPD Jeff Lee told the MailOnline: “A victim and a suspect were involved in a domestic dispute when the suspect threw a bag at the victim with a glass bottle inside of it.

"It missed the victim, but that object struck a child. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.”

Netflix’s Christine met her now-estranged husband Christian back in 2018 through the work of a mutual friend.

Speaking about their first date, the mother-of-one told Bustle: “Him and I had an amazing steak dinner and got to know each other, and we just hit it off right away.

“He's everything that I ever wanted. And then [my friend's] like, ‘Also, he's looking for a house,’ and I was like: double bonus'.”

The pair tied the knot in a luxurious winder wonderland-themed ceremony in 2019 and welcomed their son together two years later.

In April 2024, it was revealed that Christian had filed for divorce from Christine, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ against her.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, on April 5, the entrepreneur was seeking sole legal and physical custody of their child.

Tyla has previously contacted the LAPD and Christine’s representatives for comment.
