Donald Trump's response to being asked about the specifics of his MRI scan has gone viral.

On Sunday (30 November), the US president was quizzed about the medical exam by reporters as he travelled back to Washington from Florida on Air Force One.

For those not in the loop, the Republican leader took an MRI test in October, amid swirling questions over his health.

The White House has not yet detailed why Trump had the test during his visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, only that he underwent 'advanced imaging'.

Since then, the Democratic Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, has publicly called for the MRI results to be released.

As Trump was quizzed by reporters over the weekend, one journalist said: "Walz called for the release of your MRI results."

To which Trump brutally hit out: "Governor Walz? You mean the incompetent Governor Walz?

"So if they wanna release it, it's okay with me to release it. It's perfect like my phone call where I got impeached."

He defiantly added: "You wanna have it released - I'll release it."

One journalist then asked: "Can I ask what they were looking at," which seemed to baffle Trump, who thought she meant which parts of the MRI he was looking to release to the public.

The reporter clarified: "What part of your body was the MRI looking at?"

To which Trump responded: "I have no idea. It was just an MRI. What part of the body? It wasn't the brain because I took a cognitive test and I aced it."

He savagely continued: "I got a perfect mark, which you would be incapable of doing," before saying: "Goodbye everybody," and taking no further questions.

The moment has quickly gone viral on social media, with people confused over the president not knowing which part of the body the MRI was for.

While whole body MRIs do exist and Trump would likely be someone who has access to them, usually the medical tests are ordered for a specific medical purpose related to a patient's symptoms or condition.

One Twitter user penned: "I've taken many MRI's. None of them were for routine physicals. All of them were for very specific reasons."

A second agreed: "I've had 2 MRI's, 1 at the Mayo Clinic, in my life and you can be damned sure I knew what they were for."

And a third wrote: "Never in the history of medicine was someone given an MRI and it wasn’t explained what part of the body they were looking at."

A fourth chimed in with: "He had a scan and didn’t know what part of his body was scanned, was he not present at the time this was going on?"

And someone else defended the reporter, quipping: "Again no one stands up for the female reporter... why is he president if he doesn’t know what part of the body they did an MRI on??"

Tyla has contacted the White House for comment.
