Any fake tan user will be used to fighting leftover orange remnants around the fingers and ankles, but one woman has now hailed Dettol liquid as the perfect solution to help get your skin back to its natural colour.
No matter how hard you might scrub, sometimes it just feels like the orange lines and patches left by fake tan are going to be a new permanent feature on your skin.
They're not the most attractive feature, and they don't do much for making you feel better after already having to get rid of most of your tanned, glowing skin.

Now, though, TikTok user Sarah Beacham claims to have found 'the quickest way to remove fake tan ever'.
In a video posted to her page, the fake tan user showed her bathing her legs in what looked to be water, showing a 'before and after' as she revealed one leg still tinged slightly orange, and the other back to its natural shade.
Sarah explained that it wasn't just water seen in the video, but actually a 'Dettol bath'.
If you're like me and previously only associated Dettol with disinfectant sprays, then don't panic. The TikToker isn't sitting around bathing in cleaning solution, but instead appears to be using Dettol liquid, an antiseptic suitable for 'first aid, medical and personal hygiene uses'.

The liquid, which is available to buy at supermarkets, does work to protect against germs, but is described as a 'multi use liquid'.
It comes complete with a 'fresh, iconic pine fragrance' to help get rid of that slightly musty fake tan smell, and can even be used to tackle dandruff and spots.
Dettol itself has clarified it is safe to bathe in the product, writing: "Dettol Disinfectant Liquid has added Aloe Vera, which is gentle on skin and kills 100 illness causing germs when diluted in bath water."

Sarah explained she puts 'a bit of Dettol in the water and use[s] Dettol soap' to remove her tan, but she was met with mixed responses from other TikTok users after sharing her advice online.
Some viewers were right there with her as one responded to say they 'love a Dettol bath', though another responded to describe the idea as 'crazy'.
Sarah couldn't be swayed though, and responded to the critic to say: "Just try it once, just once. If you still disagree with me after a Dettol bath, I will never mention me having them again."
Dettol liquid should not be swallowed under any circumstances, and users are advised to wash thoroughly with cold water if it goes in the eyes.

If swallowed, Dettol advises customers to wash out the mouth, drink plenty of water or milk and consult your doctor.
