Chris Evans has been named the sexiest man alive in People’s 2022 award.
Yes, who would have thought that the ginger bespectacled host of various radio breakfast shows and TFI Friday would one day be declared the most desirable man on the planet at the age of 56.

Only kidding, it’s the American film star Chris Evans we’re talking about, not the Warrington-born DJ and presenter.
Still, Evans is obviously delighted that People have honoured him with the award, telling them that ‘his mom will be so happy’.
The 41-year-old is bracing himself for playful bullying and ribbing from his friends about the award, but it’s nonetheless a fairly impressive accolade for him to receive.

When asked what his teenage self would have said if he’d been told years ago, Evans said: "He'd be pumped!
"This would probably be the road to the cool table which I was not at."
It’s hard to believe that the actor who made his name playing Captain America in Marvel’s Avengers franchise wasn’t always good looking and popular, but that’s his story and he’s sticking to it.
At least Mrs Evans is going to be pleased.

Evans continued: "My mom will be so happy,
"She's proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about."
Bragging about his sexiest man alive gong isn’t something that he’s prepared to do, though.

The Boston-born star added: "This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about, it feels like a weird form of humble bragging.
"Really this will just be a point of bullying, it's ripe for harassment."
From his friends, at least.
His mum did eventually get her word in, telling the publication: "I am not surprised at all, our family will be beside themselves."

Well, they should be.
It’s a vindication of the Evans clan’s strong and healthy genes, if nothing else.
Evans has had a busy year this time around, having starred in films including Pixar’s Lightyear and The Gray Man for Netflix.
He also found time somewhere to film three more movies for the next year, including Ghosted, which he’ll also be producing.
But, work/life balance is now key to his thinking when selecting roles.
He explained: "When it comes to seeking out the people I play, it's more of an issue of where the movie shoots,
"I'm too old to be living out of a suitcase for six months and I've settled into a nicer phase where I'm just happy being at home."
Furthermore, there’s a broody side to him.
Evans admits that having children is ‘absolutely something I want’ although there’s no time-frame on that front yet.
"Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends,” he explained.
Fair enough.
