There was sad news in the showbiz circuit this week, when Jason Momoa announced he and his wife Lisa Bonet were separating after 16 years together.
But there’s one person who will be the Aquaman actor’s side after he made the difficult decision – and it’s close pal and former Game of Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke.
And an unearthed interview reveals that Jason regularly visits his former on-screen wife every time he ventures over to the UK.
You can watch the video below.
When Jason appeared alongside Emilia on The Graham Norton Show in 2019, the pair – who cosied up on Graham’s big red sofa – made it clear how important it was that they saw each other regularly.
After the chat show host joked that Jason was “reunited” with his wife, he asked whether the couple had been in touch since Game of Thrones concluded.
“We have,” Emilia said.
“Every time I come to England, I see Emilia,” Jason added.
While the pair have never shown any sort of romantic feelings towards one another, fans are not-so-secretly hoping that the pair may couple up in real life.
A photo on Jason’s Instagram, in which Emilia is seen sitting in his lap, has seen fans commenting that the pair would make a good couple off-screen, too.
On Game of Thrones, Jason played Khal Drogo, the chieftain of a Dothraki khalasar and Daenerys' husband.
Drogo dies in the very first season of the show, but reappeared in the second season as one of Daenerys’s visions.
A statement released by Jason and Lisa explained why the pair decided to go their separate ways.
“A revolution is unfolding ~ and our family is of no exception,” Jason wrote. “Feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so ~ We share our Family news ~ That we are parting ways in marriage.
"We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ But so that ~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty."
Jason and Lisa had been together for 16 years and married in 2017. They have two children together, a daughter, Lola, and son, Nakoa-Wolf.
