Kim Kardashian had a birthday disaster on her hands as the private jet wasn’t able to land due to ‘the wind’, meaning she had to go with plan B – which, admittedly, still looked pretty special. Watch the saga unfold here:
After turning 42 on Friday (21 October), Kim planned to celebrate in Las Vegas at an Usher concert, posting a video on social media that showed her boarding her sister Kylie Jenner’s private jet with her girlfriends.

"Vegas baby!" she told the camera, before posting a series of videos and snaps that showed the group travelling in style on Kylie Air, an experience that even came with its own bespoke cocktail menu featuring tipples like ‘KikiR-Rita’, ‘Kimtini’, ‘Keeks Kougar Kourage’ and ‘A Billionaire’s Beverage’.
However, Kim and co were gutted to find that the party spirit was soon dampened when they were told they couldn’t land in Las Vegas due to severe weather conditions.

The upset reality star took to Instagram to share an update, telling fans: "The plane couldn't land due to the wind so looks like our Carbone party and Usher concert isn't happening and we are heading back home.”
She posted a photo of a lavish restaurant, writing: “Our Carbone dinner that could have been.”
Instead, the partygoers ended up taking refuge in a local In-N-Out Burger restaurant, throwing their fiercest pouts to the camera in a group selfie to show the bad luck wasn’t getting in the way of their good time.

“Soooo In N Out it is,” Kim said, sharing another video of herself at the checkout wearing a white feather boa to cover up her diamante-studded bra.
The group then boarded the ‘party bus to nowhere’, where Kim chowed down on a burger before continuing with the jello shots.

Frankly, it looks like they all had a pretty solid night in spite of the setbacks – who needs Usher in Vegas when you’ve got burgers and feather boas?
Of course, Kim set the bar fairly high back in 2020 when she turned 40, when she whisked her loved ones away to a private island - something that didn't go down too well on social media.
"Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment," she tweeted.

"After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.
"We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is."
While some fans of the star praised her for being open and honest about her celebrations, others criticised her for her tone-deaf post during the coronavirus pandemic.
