Kourtney Kardashian has revealed her egg retrieval didn’t go the 'way she had hoped'.
The reality TV star, 43, has been candid about her and new husband Travis Barker’s IVF journey on the family’s new series, The Kardashians.
In the latest episode of the show, the Poosh founder gave the heart breaking update in a confessional after her appointment with their fertility doctor.
She said: "[The] egg retrieval with Dr. Wood didn't go the way that we would've hoped.

"He was able to retrieve the egg, but it didn't make it to the embryo stage. We start back again, and we are at Dr. A's office to check my follicles, see how they're looking, see how many follicles we have.
"She measures all the follicles and then she sends it all to Dr. Wood."
Although the egg didn’t make it to the embryo stage, Kourtney was told positive news during another appointment with Dr. Thais Aliabadi, who told them the follicle was looking good.

Dr. A told Kourtney: "Oh look at this follicle, look at that. Yes [it looks good]. It's the first time you've had it. So remember it was 12 two days ago?
"It's 14 right now which is about the right size for retrieval. This is the best it's ever been. We've never gotten to this point."
Despite their disappointing news, the TV star bravely explained how she and Travis try to 'stay in the moment' when it comes to them trying to expand their family.

She shared in the confessional: "The fertility journey, Travis and I stay in the moment with it and just do the steps we need to do.
"It's nice to hear good news and have some positivity, so we love that, but we just wait to hear the final thoughts from Dr. Wood once he receives my blood work and really gets to look at the follicles."
Kourtney, who has Mason, 11, Penelope, 8, and Reign, 6, with ex Scott Disick, has bravely documented her and Travis’ IVF struggles on the show.
Last month, Kourtney candidly described the process as 'awful' and admitted it had put her into early menopause.

Speaking to the cameras, Kourtney said: "Travis and I want to have a baby, so my doctor took us down this road of doing IVF. It hasn't been the most amazing experience.
"The medication that they've been giving me put me into menopause - literally into menopause."
She added: "I think because I'm so clean and careful with what I put into my body, it's just having the complete opposite reaction and working as a contraceptive instead of helping us."

The pair, who wed on Sunday (15 May) in Santa Barbara, also went to see a fertility doctor two days after their engagement in October in the hopes of retrieving an egg.
Blink 182 drummer Travis shares children Landon, 18, and Alabama, 16, with ex Shanna Moakler.
