Scottish legend Lewis Capaldi has well and truly overtaken Ed Sheeran in the race for the most streamed song.
Right, the UK gets a reputation for being full of stiff upper-lipped, awkward huggers, but it says a great deal about how times are changing when a Capaldi ballad breaks the most-streamed song record for the UK.
Maybe we're all warming up a bit?

The news was announced as part of the Official Chart Company's 70th-anniversary celebrations.
The previous title holder was 'Shape of You' by Sheeran, which while a bop has been properly outdone by Capaldi, who's song was steamed 562 million times.
For those not familiar, 'Someone You Loved' was released in 2019 and cemented Capaldi as a firm fan-favourite.

And, humour still very much intact, he celebrated the win in an incredibly humble way: "Listen…The Beatles, Drake, Metallica, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, don't worry guys, no hard feelings, I just had to take this one.
"Take a step back and let Daddy steer the ship now, OK?"
Yep, that's one way to mark the occasion and honestly we rate it, but he also went on to share some love for Sheeran, who's been something of a 'mentor' for the 26-year-old chart-topper: "Ed's a man who is like a brother to me, he's been a mentor, he's put his arm around me and said, 'Don't worry everything's going to be ok.'

"He's been nothing, but kind and gracious and beautiful, a good friend in an ever-changing industry. So to Ed, I say... nice guys finish last. You snooze you lose, kiddo. Keep up!"
And, that wasn't the end of his acceptance speech, with Capaldi going on to call himself the 'king of streaming' and wearing an inflatable crown to celebrate his coronation.
To be fair, we'd take him as king over Charles — imagine how good the national anthem would sound?
That's not the only accomplishment Lewis' records have achieved, turns out that his music is also the most relaxing to listen to, according to a new study.
The research team at Great Bean Bags analysed a shed load of songs, from playlists that featured words like 'chill' 'relaxing' and 'chilling' they then created a formula to calculate how calming a song was, based on the beats per minute and key.

Turns out that the very same song that broke the UK's most streamed record was also the calmest song the researcher found.
And we're off to listen to 'Someone You Loved' because at this point it seems like it'll be good for us.
