Love Island’s Jacques O'Neill has revealed he was left ‘so angry’ after learning his family revealed his ADHD diagnosis as he faced backlash for his behaviour. Watch his comments below:
The rugby player, 23, appeared on Thursday’s (4 August) Good Morning Britain where he discussed his decision to quit the ITV2 series back in July, shortly after former Islander Adam Collard arrived and had eyes for his then partner Paige Thorne.

He attempted to win back Paige after his questionable behaviour in Casa Amor was exposed, but after many emotional conversations, he eventually decided to leave the villa on 12 July.
Reflecting on his departure, Jacques admitted he felt that revealing his ADHD looked ‘an excuse for his behaviour’ but now understands why his mother felt motivated to do so.
Speaking to GMB’s Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard, Jacques began: "When I got out, I was so ready to delete that but I was so angry with my mum. I was like, 'why have you put that out? It's looking like an excuse for my behaviour'.
"With me I'm very like... I deal with everything, it's not about ADHD. We struggle, people with ADHD will understand me, we struggle a lot different to someone without ADHD."

Kate then asked him: "So were you worried that it was making it look like you were using your diagnosis as an excuse or something?"
To which he replied: "Yeah well exactly, I didn't want people to think that. And obviously it wasn't that...
“I feel like my mum, the hate she was getting and seeing her son, she was very scared for me, so she felt like she had to put something out.

"But I was close to deleting that and then when I was getting the inspiration," he continued as Ben weighed in: "You see the difference it's making."
After leaving the villa, Jacques admitted that he was ‘very scared of life’ and worried about ‘what was next to come’ after his family received death threats.
The reality TV star added: "When I first came out, it was very different for me. I was scared, very scared of life and what was to come next to me.
"When I was in that holding villa after I left, I just wanted my mum, all I wanted to do was just be with my mum and just go into hiding. I was getting so much hate, me and my mum were getting death threats and everything."

Jacque's comments come weeks after he spoke about his decision to appear in the ITV2 dating show, claiming it 'the worst decision of his life'.
Elsewhere, the northerner has been accused of bullying finalist Tasha Ghouri after a video posted to his private Instagram Story of him poking fun at her was leaked.
While watching the final four couples read out their declarations of love for one another, Jacques couldn't help himself when it got to Tasha's turn.

As she told Andrew how much she adored him, Jacques whipped out his phone and filmed the moment, before turning the camera to himself and quoting Davide Sanclimenti's famous quote from the season: "You are a liar, actress, get the f**k out."
The Love island 2022 Reunion airs at 9pm on Sunday, 7 August on ITV2.
