Madonna fans got more than they'd probably bargained for when flicking through Instagram Stories this week as the singer proudly displayed her boobs for all to see.
Coming across the pictures on a Friday night at least feels somehow more acceptable than being shocked by them at 9am on a Monday morning, but still. It's a lot to process between pictures of people cheers-ing their Prosecco and showing off their Halloween costumes.

The singer's topless pictures came after she celebrated the 30th anniversary of her fifth album, Erotica, which was released on 20 October, 1992.
The first snap showed her bending over towards the camera with her boobs hanging free, with nothing more than a strategically placed caption used to cover her nipples, reading: "Went from candy to money." Of course there wouldn't have been any caption necessary if it were a man, but we won't get in to that.
Madonna's next snap was more full-on, and used two lollipop emojis to cover her nipples while she posed in a tight, shiny gold corset. The third image was a black-and-white snap of her in a black corset and fishnet tights, this time with her boobs contained behind the material.

After the images were shared online, one fan tagged Madonna on Twitter and wrote: "Looking frankly incredible at age 64."
Another fan commented: "Good for her for embracing her youth. Young at [heart] and not letting the number dictate how she should look or act. She has the money to take care of herself. She looks amazing and she still feels young and vibrant. If I had the money she has, I would do the same. She is Madonna!"
Madonna previously shared nude snaps of herself in her coffee table book Sex, which also celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
The book included images of Madonna shot by photographers Steven Meisel and Fabien Baron, pictures of stars like Vanilla Ice, Naomi Campbell, and other models, and scenes depicting sex acts and bondage.

Madonna reflected on the impact of the book on her Instagram Story, explaining that she 'wrote about [her] sexual fantasies and shared [her] point of view about sexuality in an ironic way'.
“I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman,” she wrote. “I was called a whore, a witch a heretic and the devil.”
In spite of the controversy, Madonna credited her work with allowing 'Cardi B [to] sing about her WAP', Kim Kardashian to 'grace the cover of any magazine with her naked a**' and Miley Cyrus to 'come in like a wrecking ball'.
