The former Miss Universe Australia has called out critics who have a problem with her decision not to have children.
Maria Thattil, who was crowned Miss Universe Australia in 2020, was plagued with hateful comments and messages after sharing that she has no intention of becoming a mum.
It all started when Maria hosted a Q&A session with her fans, in which she revealed she doesn't want to have kids.

Although the response from followers was mostly positive, Maria has said that about 'ten percent' warned her that her 'biological clock is ticking' and that she was getting 'older and less desirable with less options.'
Publishing a column in Stellar, Maria fired back at misogynistic fans, telling them that she was 'more than the baby making machine they imply I am.'
She explained: "When people threaten me with fear of loneliness in my latter years, I tell them that I fear their decision to have kids just so they're old and ailing."

Pointing to young women who are inundated with questions about getting married, married women who are swarmed with queries about having babies, Maria asked for people to stop piling the pressure on women and what they should do with their 'big, powerful lives.'
The model went on to explain that children 'don't deserve to be born out of pressure' and 'aren't a fix for the problems in one's life."
She went on to insist that she'll stand by this choice when she's 'hot and fertile' and when she's a 'hot geriatric' surrounded by golden retrievers.

Posting an excerpt of the article to her Instagram account, Maria told her followers: "I’ve seen comments where someone suggested my words are ‘controversial’ and that I’d change my mind if I married a millionaire.
"What’s controversial is thinking it’s controversial for a woman to champion choice and not want kids. And that my life choices can be bought."
She continued: "Parenthood is beautiful. It’s also not the default. No amount of fear-mongering, shaming or invalidation can take away from the importance of the message - we are more than our reproductive choices.
"And if I married a millionaire, I wouldn’t be popping out kids - I’d be investing in a McDonalds franchise on our property and ensuring adequate care for our golden [retrievers] THANK U".

Fans and followers were obsessed with Maria's top-class response, and took to the comments to congratulate her.
"Listen, you can watch Bluey on your own, no kid needed. And don’t ever let anyone tell you different", joked one follower.
"I resonate so deeply with this" commented a second. "Children are great lil creatures but never had the desire or calling to have any of my own."
And a third raved: "Yes girl! Your body, your life, your choice. I don’t understand why people care about another person’s reproductive decisions, period."
