They say it's better to be late than never and Rihanna has certainly followed that advice.
Rihanna was reportedly so late that the other celebs had already begun to leave.
But the wait was certainly worth it as the hitmaker dazzled on the deserted red carpet with her bridal ensemble, honouring the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who was the creative director of Chanel from 1983 to his death in 2019.

The bride happens to be a major symbol of the fashion house, which historically closes its couture show with a white wedding outfit.
And Rihanna gave an epic interpretation of the look, with the top half of her hooded outfit featuring camellias – Lagerfeld’s favourite flower and a common motif in his designs – and the bottom half progressing into a long train.
She also accessorised the bold outfit with white sunglasses featuring 3D lashes.
Despite the stunning outfit, Rihanna, alongside her man A$AP Rocky, arrived to the Metropolitan Museum of Art two hours late, according to The Daily Mail.

And it seems as though it's a tradition for the 'Rude Boy' singer to arrive late, as in 2021, she and A$AP Rocky were once again the last celebs to walk the carpet.
Anna Wintour even joked in her Vogue '73 Questions' interview that Rihanna is the only celebrity who is allowed to arrive late.
But seriously, if anyone can get away with being late, it's Rihanna, who is currently pregnant with her second child.

Speaking to ET, the mum-of-one said: "It's so different from the first one.
"No cravings. Tons of nausea. Everything's different, but I'm enjoying it.
"I feel good. I feel energetic."
The couple welcomed their first child last May, and the Barbadian singer said she's 'in love' with her little boy.

"I'm in love. I'm obsessed and I don't even feel guilty about it," she said.
Rocky also admitted: "[He's] growing big. Beautiful, happy baby."
The rapper wore a kilt over jeans, with a more traditional Lagerfeld-inspired white shirt, jacket and tie on top.

And it wasn't just Rihanna gushing about her pregnancy, as model Karlie Kloss also showed off her growing bump at the Met Gala.
She is expecting her second child with businessman husband Joshua Kushner.
Wearing a Loewe outfit designed by Northern Irish fashion designer Jonathan Anderson, her black gown featured Lagerfeld’s signature strings of pearls, with a trompe-l’oeil design giving a modern, surrealist edge to the ensemble.
“I’m so happy, this is the first time I’m sharing my news, so it’s very special,” she told Vogue.
“I was pregnant last time during the pandemic so I didn’t leave my sweatpants.
“So this is the first time I’m on a red carpet pregnant and it’s a super special moment, also kind of vulnerable – so I don’t know how to style a belly. I can’t imagine a more special moment.”
