Music mogul Simon Cowell has admitted that he went ‘too far’ with facial fillers, and revealed what made him give them up.
Cowell, 63, is no stranger to scrutiny or the limelight. He’s been one of the leading men in showbiz for over 20 years and has made just as many celebrities as he’s broken.
He’s of course partly responsible for the rise of One Direction, and the success of former girl group Little Mix.

However, in recent years, it hasn’t been his knack for finding global talent and his trademark tongue that’s had people talking - it’s been his penchant for cosmetic surgery.
In 2008, he told Glamour: “To me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste. It works, you do it once a year - who cares?”
Since then, however, fans wondered whether Cowell had gone overboard with the plastic surgery.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge was thought to be having dermal fillers injected on the regular.
These are Food and Drug Administration-approved medical products that act to plump up lips, and cheeks as well as build up jawlines.
Regarding Cowell’s appearance one user took to Twitter to write: “Simon Cowell now looks like somebody who has spent 200K in plastic surgery to look like Simon Cowell.”
Another said: “What is it about Hollywood, fame and money that makes these people do this? When plastic surgery goes too far.”

Interestingly, the latter is a sentiment that Cowell actually agrees with and told the Sun the work looked ‘like something out of a horror film’.
In 2022 he told paper that there was a stage in his plastic surgery journey 'where I might have gone a bit too far'.
“I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and I didn’t recognise it as me first of all," Cowell said and it turns out he wasn't the only one as apparently his son, Eric, 9, was 'in hysterics' at the pictures.

However, this led Cowell to admit that 'enough was enough'.
"There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero," he added. “There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other. But actually, for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tonnes of water.”
Cowell also explained that one of the best things about ageing is that you gain 'a lot of experience and it’s not always about the things you did well - it’s also about the things you didn’t'.

However, Cowell is just one of the many celebrities to speak candidly about fillers and the cosmetic surgery they’ve had.
Last year, Joe Jonas, 33, told People that he’d had injections to ease his frown lines and wrinkles.
“I don’t think it’s necessarily something that we have to shy away from,” he said. “We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth.”
Cowell returned to Britain’s Got Talent this weekend alongside judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli. You can tune into the talent show every Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.
