A woman is fuming after discovering who the special guest was supposed to be at Sam Smith's cancelled Manchester gig.
The 31-year-old singer was forced to end their Manchester AO Arena show on Wednesday (24 May) after just the fourth song because of a 'vocal cord injury'.
In an Instagram story, Smith said: “Dearest sailors, I don’t know what to say honestly.

“I fought off a virus a few weeks ago and since then we have travelled across Europe and had such incredible shows.
“Today in soundcheck I felt fine and was so excited to give Manchester an amazing show tonight, with a special surprise at the end.
“During my third song, I noticed something wrong with my voice.

“I prayed it was just my voice waking up for the show but into the fourth song I could feel something was really wrong.
“I came off stage and have tried everything to get my voice back in gear but it won’t.
“I am honestly heartbroken I couldn’t finish the show tonight for you all.
“I love you all. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry x.”

Well, one fan who attended the gig was 22-year-old Charley Marlowe.
However, it wasn't the cancellation of the show that Marlowe was upset about.
At the start of the concert, Smith urged fans to stick around until the very end because they'd planned a 'little surprise'.

"I want to play to you one of my new songs that's coming out.
"So after the show, at the very end of the show, after 'Unholy', please stay around. If you have to go it's fine it's fine," Smith said.
In a video shared after the cancelled gig, she explained: "We all left, but at the start of the gig Sam went 'oh, I've got a new song out'.
"Go on Sam Smith's Instagram, because I did. Do you know who the new song's with? Madonna."

Smith's new track features one the 'Queen of Pop' and posters around Manchester featured the letters 'S&M'.
"Why would you perform a new song with Madonna if Madonna's not gonna be there?," Marlow asked, before adding: "Oh but that's the thing. Madonna was there. Madonna was there and she was gonna perform but she didn't come out...
"I don't wanna speak to anyone. I'm going back to bed."
While we don't know for sure that Madonna was going to join them on stage, fans seem to think that it was a real possibility.
Smith has since announced that they are cancelling their concerts in Glasgow and Birmingham.
Tyla has contacted Sam Smith's representatives for comment.
