When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got engaged in 2002, they instantly became one of the most talked about and photographed celebrity couples of the noughties.
Now in the year 2021, people have been whisked back in time to the era of low-rise jeans and Juicy Couture after the pair have reunited for a sequel - in other words, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially together again.
After their reunion was first reported by Page Six, with pictures showing Ben close to J.Lo's home, the pair were snapped in a car together in LA.
Then, things turned up a notch. The couple were spotted smooching on holiday together.
They went official shortly after, with Ben landing a spot on J.Lo's sexy holiday Insta upload, planting a kiss on her.
The couple were also spotted recreating several Jenny From The Block video poses, with Batman's Ben putting his hand on J.Lo's derriere while on a yacht, and kissing her against the bars of a balcony.
Naturally, the couple rekindling their early 2000s romance has set Twitter ablaze with nostalgia.
One Twitter user posted a meme of Adele with the lyrics of her song When We Were Young. They said: "Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck? I don't care if it's PR, IT'S CALLED NOSTALGIA AND I'M HERE FOR IT."
A second user quipped: "Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are dating. In other news I saw the trailer for that new movie Mean Girls on MySpace."
However one woman is hoping that Bennifer is the only thing from 2002 making a comeback, writing: "Please let this be the only thing to come back from the early 2000s (Low rise jeans I'm looking at you in particular)."
Another Twitter user joked: "I can't believe y'all are making me read the phrase 'Bennifer' with my own two eyes in the year of our lord 2021."
Jennifer and Ben met on the set of their critically panned movie Gigli, where the couple played gangsters who fell in love.
Although the movie flopped at the box office, sparks flew between the two stars. Jennifer dedicated her third album This Is Me... Then, to her then-fiancé Ben when it was released in November 2002.
He also had a cameo in the lead single's music video Jenny From The Block. Over the next year, Bennifer became a fixture on the cover of celebrity tabloid mags, and they are even credited for started the celebrity couple name blend trend which gave us TomKat (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) and Kimye (Kim Kardashian and Kanye West).
Bennifer were due to wed in September 2003 but called off their nuptials the day before the ceremony citing media interference. Their break-up became official in January 2004.
As the pair confirm their rekindling, we can't help but think what else from 2002 could possibly have a comeback...
