TLC star Tammy Slaton has reassured her social media followers that her page is a 'safe' place to discuss mental health after lifting the lid on her own battle.
The 38-year-old shared the heartwarming message on Instagram whilst describing the extreme weight loss journey she has undergone over the years, and spoke out about the 'depression' she has been left with ever since.

For those unfamiliar with Tammy's fame, the Kentucky-born TV star sky-rocketed into the spotlight back in 2020 when she and her sibling Amy Slaton-Halterman were cast in a new docu-series titled 1000-Lb Sisters.
The popular show would document the morbidly obese duo's attempts to change their lifestyles for the better by introducing healthy new diets, implemented exercise into their daily lives, and ultimately, undergoing weight loss surgeries.
Since then, Tammy has regularly documented the highs and lows of life in the spotlight, and has received mass praise for her frank commentaries on post-weight loss mental health changes.
And taking to social media this week, she had a very special message to anyone new to her page who might be going through the same gut-wrenching reality.

"If you’re new here, my name is Tammy," she began an emotional new video. "Some of my friends call me Queen Tammy. You can too if you want.
"Here on my page you’re going to find motivation, realness from me, and hopefully inspiration for you to continue on your journey."
Reflecting on her own experience, Tammy continued: "Whether [you’ve lost] 500 lbs. like I [did], or you’ve almost lost all your weight, whether you deal with depression, or you don’t know what to do tomorrow, just know, you are safe here."

Tammy's sweet message of encouragement comes just weeks after she announced she'd lost a total of 500lbs following her surgery.
The TV star - who at her highest weight was around 717lbs - previously put an aspect of her obesity down to mental health struggles in another social media admission.
Claiming she 'wouldn't have gotten so big' if she'd received the correct support for her depression, she claimed: "The mental aspect of it does play a lot.
"Being depressed and having a food addiction, eating my feelings, I was taking it out on the food. There’s so many things that can go wrong. Life is scary."

The news also comes just weeks after Tammy went public with her new girlfriend, social media sensation, Haley Michelle.
The TLC star has since shared several photographs with her new love, whom she found a year after the death of her estranged husband, Caleb Willingham, who passed in summer 2023.
The pair first met at a weight loss rehabilitation facility in Ohio back in 2022, and got married in November of that year, only a month after he proposed.

The romance was short-lived, however, as it was reported by The U.S. Sun that the couple parted ways in May 2023, a few months before Caleb's passing.
