There's a whole lot of buzz over who will be next to don the tuxedo and take on the role of 007 and it seems the latest fan-favourite tipped to do the job is none other than Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

The 33-year-old actor has a decade-spanning career with blockbusters like Kick-Ass, Bullet Train and Anna Karenina just to name a few under his belt.

And it seems the next James Bond flick could be his next cinematic venture, with a source telling The Sun: "Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it."

They added: "The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back."

While nothing has been confirmed yet, fans have all been saying the same thing after Taylor-Johnson got tipped to be the next Bond.

Now, before the Hollywood A-lister sky-rocketed to fame, he appeared in the British cult teen classic, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging back in 2008.

He played the role of boy band frontman Robbie, the heart-throb love interest of the protagonist, Georgia, played by Georgia Groome.

And it seems Taylor-Johnson's die-hard fans haven't been able to shake the image of his Bieber-style barnet and school uniform from their minds, with many rushing to social media to share their reactions to the news.

One X, formerly Twitter, user penned: "Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the next Bond? He’ll always be Robbie to me."

A second wrote: "Aaron Taylor-Johnson could be bond but none of the other Bond actors could be Robbie from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging."

"Kinda hoping Aaron Taylor-Johnson isn’t the new Bond because it will mean I’ll have to sit through more dull Bond movies just to look at him," joked a third. "He’ll always be Robbie to me though."

And a final user echoed: "I'm sorry but Aaron Taylor-Johnson will only ever be Robbie from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging to me."

The director of the 2008 flick, Gurinder Chadha, OBE, previously said she'd 'take complete credit' if Taylor-Johnson ended up becoming the next Bond.

Fans have said Taylor-Johnson will always be the character of Robbie to them.

Speaking at an In-Conversation at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival back in 2022, the award-winning director said: "The next James Bond, we hope, Aaron Taylor Johnson, who was in my film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging."

She then revealed to the audience how she'd fought to cast the actor in the movie, adding: "I had to fight with Paramount Studios who made that film.

"I said, 'I really want to cast this guy. I think he’s huge. He’s going to be a great talent, a big star'.

"And they were like, 'Well, no one knows who he is'. And I said, ‘I know. But trust me, not yet'. And then I cast him."

Chadha then light-heartedly joked: "And of course, now, if he becomes the next Bond, I will take complete credit."

Only time will tell...

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging is currently available to stream on Netflix.
