Anne Hathaway has been forced to address a massive conspiracy theory about her husband’s true identity.
Now, as we all know, the internet is absolutely rife with a whole bunch of absolutely bonkers conspiracy theories.
From the rumours that singer Avril Lavigne has a body double named 'Melissa' all way through to the seemingly never-ending Friends fan theories - it seems there's no shortage of speculation when it comes to social media and pop culture and it's clear celebrities are of no exception.

The pair also share two sons together; seven-year-old Jonathan and three-year-old Jack.
Now, Anne is fairly private about her personal life but, in an interview last year with Drew Barrymore, she opened up a little more about her hubby.
Well, namely a particularly bizarre theory surrounding him.

The Charlie's Angels icon was telling Anne how she'd recently seen & Juliet, a play about what would have happened to Juliet had she not taken her own life alongside Romeo.
And, according to Drew, the play takes a lot of its influence from William Shakespeare's wife, who was coincidentally also named Anne Hathaway.
"Then I did a little digging," Drew went on. "There's a conspiracy theory about your husband [...] that he might be William Shakespeare reincarnated."

The talk show then showed two side-by-side images of the Romeo and Juliet playwright and Adam and, well, you can kind of see a resemblance.
"It's kinda' nuts, right?" Anne responded before adding: "It would be great if it were true, but even if it's not, it's still kinda' great."
Not surprising, given that old Bill has gone down in history as, arguably, one of the most notable playwrights of all time.
In the interview, the Hollywood A-lister also opened up about what the secret was to her 15-year-old romance with Adam.

"We're just really lucky that we keep growing together," she gushed before explaining: "But, we have this thing - we actually have a tattoo - and it's the idea that individually we're whole, but together we're more.
"So I think it's just that thing that I don't expect him to complete me, and I don't think he expects me to complete him. [...] We choose to be together because we make each other better."
Noted.
