Ariana Grande debuts brand new look and fans think it looks familiar

Ariana Grande has just debuted her brand-new look and fans reckon it looks very familiar.

Over her decade-spanning career, the 32-year-old Hollywood A-lister has rocked a number of different aesthetics usually categorised by what she does in the hair department.

There was the signature red locks seen as Ariana starred as Cat Valentine in Victorious around 2009 to 2012, the deep brunette long ponytail era circa 2012 to 2014, the fan-favourite blonde ombré/honey-blonde phases which took place around 2013 to 2015, her platinum and even more extreme high ponytail which symbolised her 'iconic' phase of 2015 onward and, of course, the softer blonde locks and bleached brows as seen in her Wicked era.

But it would appear that the '7 Rings' singer is going back to her roots, quite literally, after showing off her latest hair transformation to her 372 million followers on Instagram earlier today (29 October).

She captioned the selfie, which has since racked up over 2.3 million likes: "It’s good to see me, isn’t it?"

It didn't take long for fans to rush to social media absolutely buzzing that Ariana seemed to be paying homage to her past hair eras, as one X user chirped: "Have we gone back to 2012?"

"ARIANA’S POPSTAR IS BACK? (welcome back ariana grande)," beamed a second, while a third chimed in: "We just need the tan and a ponytail and she’s back…"

A fourth echoed: "I have been for this era! Ariana Grande brunette hair looks pretty on her."

"THE BRUNETTE ERA?????" gushed a fifth, while a sixth praised: "BRUNETTIANA IS BACK. WE'RE ALL SAVED."

Another penned: "We're one step closer. Now put it in a ponytail!"

And a final X user added: "CAT VALENTINE IS BACK OMG."

Fans will no doubt also be buzzing that the sequel to Wicked, titled Wicked: For Good, will be out in cinemas just next month (21 November) - a whole year on from when the initial box-office smash hit flick starring Ariana alongside the ever-stunning Cynthia Erivo hit our screens.

Now demonised as the Wicked Witch of the West, the plot sees the likes of Elphaba (Cynthia) living in exile in the Ozian forest, while Glinda (Ariana) resides at the palace in Emerald City, revelling in the perks of fame and popularity. As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, she'll need to reunite with Glinda to transform herself, and all of Oz, for good.
