Ariana Grande has finally addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding her apparent change in voice.
Following her appearance on stage at this year's Oscars, and during several high-profile press interviews recently, the 30-year-old appeared to present a significantly higher-pitched voice.
In fact, many spectators wondered whether the 'thank u, next' singer was simply 'stuck in character', having been cast as Glinda the Good in the movie adaptation of hit Broadway musical Wicked, which is due to be released later this year.

Taking to social media, one noted during the Golden Globes back in March: "Why does Ariana Grande’s voice change every 2 years".
Another went on: "Wtf happened to Ariana Grande??? I really thought everyone was exaggerating about her constantly changing personas. THE VOICE OMG THAT IS NOT ARIANA GRANDE."
And earlier this week, the former Nickelodeon star left her fans pretty blindsided after her 'natural' voice surfaced mid-interview during a chat on Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley's Podcrushed.
During the second part of the interview, which dropped yesterday (17 June), the hit-maker could be seen joking that she felt 'like Austin Powers being unfrozen' at the end of a ten day stint 'literally living' in the recording studio.

"That's the only thing I thought of," she said in a noticeably deeper tone of voice than her other more recent public speaking appearances.
However, she then appeared to immediately switch up her voice completely to a much higher pitch when asked if she was releasing more songs following her Eternal Sunshine album, which was released back in March.
She shared: "Yeah, I've been writing a lot. Maybe there's some more. I would like to do a deluxe version at some point."

Fans were quick to pick up on the apparent shift in pitch with many rushing to X to share their thoughts on the matter.
One X user penned: "Just heard Ariana Grande real voice I’m finna play this on my speaker."
Another piped up: "This voice change is sending me regular Ariana was coming out for a second."
And today, in a surprise turn of events, the singer has accused the speculation, revealing the real reason why her voice might have changed.

In the comment section of the Instagram upload of the podcast, she bluntly explained: "Habit (speaking like this for two years) and also vocal health.
"I intentionally change my vocal placement (high/low) often depending on how much singing I’m doing. I’ve always done this BYE."
Well, that's told us.
