Billy Ray Cyrus accuses ex-wife of ‘isolating’ him from one of his daughters after filing for divorce

Billy Ray Cyrus accuses ex-wife of ‘isolating’ him from one of his daughters after filing for divorce

The 'Achey Breaky Heart' singer filed for divorce from Firerose last month

Billy Ray Cyrus has accused his ex-wife of 'isolating' him from at least of his daughters after filing for divorce.

The 62-year-old 'Achey Breaky Heart' singer tied the knot for a second time in October 2023 with fellow singer, Firerose, but the pair have since called it quits after just seven months of marriage.

The documents seen by E! News show that Cyrus, father to Noah, Miley Cyrus and Brandi who he adopted, has reportedly cited 'irreconcilable differences' and 'inappropriate marital conduct' in his quest for a separation from the 36-year-old.

Cyrus was also seeking an annulment due to his reasoning that 'consent to marriage was obtained by fraud', according to the publication.

The date of their separation was reportedly listed as 23 May.

Since then, Cyrus has claimed with Firerose tried to 'isolate' him from members of his family by blocking communication on his phone.

He filed the complaint earlier this week (17 June) as part of an amendment/supplement to his initial annulment and divorce complaint.

The documents obtained by PEOPLE alleges that Cyrus found Firerose 'had been conducting a campaign to isolate' him from his family ever since the filing which took place last month.

The complaint reads: "[Cyrus] discovered that the Defendant [Firerose], unknowingly to Plaintiff [Cyrus], blocked at least one (1) of his daughters from being able to contact him on his phone(s) or electronic devices."

PEOPLE adds that the court documents in question did not specify which of Cyrus' three daughters Firerose allegedly isolated him from.

The publication also reports that, in the complaint, Cyrus alleges that Firerose

lied about being married twice before as well as lied about her last name.

He also claimed that the 'After the Storm' singer is trying to use the Cyrus name to further her own career and that, after he filed for divorce last month, she made 37 unauthorised charges on his business credit card amounting to nearly $97,000.

Firerose's attorneys have since responded to the filing, with PEOPLE obtaining court documents that read: "To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorised charges is untrue.

"Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off."
