Real meaning behind Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' child’s name after actor quietly revealed it to world

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcomed their youngest child back in February

After over a year of speculation, actor Ryan Reynolds has seemingly revealed the name of his and wife Blake Lively's latest addition.

The 47-year-old Deadpool star and his Gossip Girl Mrs - 36-year-old Blake - welcomed their fourth child in February last year.

Since then, however, the loved-up couple - who are also parents to daughters James, nine, Inez, seven, and Betty, four - had remained tight-lipped over their newborn's moniker, as well as their gender, leading fans to develop countless theories about what or who she/he might be named after.

Today, however, in a sweet message of gratitude, Ryan has broken the family's silence on the matter, revealing their child's rather unique name and leaving millions of fans all over the world eagerly researching its meaning.

Making an appearance at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York last night (22 July), Ryan shared a heart-warming tribute to his family-of-five.

Beginning with a shout-out to his wife - to whom he tied the knot back in 2012 - he gushed: "I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here," before naming each his kids - including the youngest who was only welcomed to the world a few months back in February 2023.

"I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here: I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing, that is, the contents of this movie, that happens in your wondrous life," he said.

"I love that my entire family is here."

As we say, ever since the news broke, countless fans have been dying to know the celebrity power couple's reasoning for their latest baby name choice, as well as the meaning behind the moniker itself.

Well, now that the word is out, it is likely that Ryan and Blake will left the lid on what spurred their decision in an incoming talk-show interview.

But for now, according to popular baby name site Nameberry, 'Olin' is a name is of Swedish origin meaning 'to inherit'.

"Would fit right in with the trendy Colins and Owens," the site also teases.

Earlier this year, father-of-four Ryan heavily hinted that their youngest child's name could have an association with wife Blake's gal pal Taylor Swift.

During an appearance on the Today show, co-host Savannah Guthrie jokingly asked the actor: "Taylor Swift keeps dropping it into lyrics!", potentially referencing the singer's 'Betty' track from her Folklore album, which includes his older three kids' names.

Then, asked if the 34-year-old hit-maker gave any hints regarding his youngest's moniker in her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, Ryan quipped in response: "We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name is, and I'll say this: We're still waiting."
