'Cake gate' continues to provide layers of unexpected twists and turns as a resurfaced post shows Catherine Tyldesley asking for suggestions to buy less expensive cakes in her area.
It all started last week when Three Little Birds Bakery, in Keighley, Bradford, put up a Facebook post on 27 July, showing screenshots of a conversation with the PR firm of an unknown celeb.
"This poor celebrity apparently can't afford to pay people for their products and services," the caption read.

Owner of the bakery, Rebecca Severs, sarcastically responded to the email with: “I’m so sorry to hear that your client has fallen out on such hard times they can’t afford to pay small businesses for their products.
“Unfortunately, as my mortgage provider doesn’t take payment ‘in the form of promotion on their socials’, and my staff can’t feed their kids with exposure on Instagram, I’ll have to decline your very generous offer.”
"Well done! Charity is one thing and that is another," one person commented.

"Good for you! What a cheek!" a second added.
Someone else agreed: "Excellent response as everyone is falling on hard times."
"Love it! Xx I’d love to see their reply," another person said, to which the company Facebook page admin revealed the response was 'no problem, have a lovely day'.
On Wednesday (2 August) former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley broke her silence after we learned that she was the celebrity in question.

The actor shared a video to her Instagram Story from inside a car while referring to the row as being 'utterly bizarre'.
She said: “So I had no idea those emails were being sent. I’m not working with the lovely OK magazine on anything that I’m aware of and NVRLND are an amazing company - they’ve supplied me with performers in the past.
“They’re insane and they’ve been completely misrepresented in this matter.”

Catherine added: “I hope the cake lady got the exposure she was craving.”
The actor also claimed she’s now ‘got journalists knocking on my front door’ while her young kids are playing downstairs.
And now, in a resurfaced Twitter post from 2013, the celeb asks her followers where she can get some 'cheaper' cakes.

"Can anyone recommend a good cake maker in Manchester?? Not too expensive!" Catherine's tweet reads.
To be fair, it is an old tweet so we obviously can't read too much into it.
