Actor Chace Crawford has confirmed that off camera there were relationships between the Gossip Girl cast, with him admitting to 'hooking up' with a co-star.

The Gossip Girl series eventually came to an end in 2012, but for years fans followed the upper West Side cast with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) and Nate Archibald (Chace) as they enjoyed love, glamour and scandal in New York City.

Whilst some relationships between cast members were publicly known, such as Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, it appears others are less known.

Speaking in an interview on the Call Me Daddy podcast, Chace was asked if he had any on-set romances with his Gossip Girl co-stars.

He responded: "I would say those things are inevitable.

"When you're in your 20s... the thing is you're on these things—people probably think it's these sexy scenes or whatever, that's like the worst part of it, with 60 people watching.

"It's the downtime. You're doing this show, you're on set for like 12-14 hours a day and usually there's some pretty interesting people from all walks of life."

The actor didn't confirm which co-star it was, and while romances between the cast were widely known at the time, it's still uncertain who he could be referring to.

In the series, Chace's character has intimate scenes with Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and others, meaning any of them could be the mystery romance he's referring to.

He continued: "There's a lot of actors and people coming onto the show, over the years.

"And I was fortunate enough to have in the city a really good friend group. And everyone else has their little friend group.

"So you meet people in that wider circle, it's not just that tiny little circle. There's a lot of people involved. But again, it was like our college experience."

He also confirmed that he helped some of his co-stars to keep their relationships 'secret'.

He also revealed what it was that attracted him to co-stars on set, and potentially the one he hooked up with, as he shared: "The danger is if you connect right away with sense of humor, at least for me.

"Like if you have a rapport and can kind of banter, and give each other s**t. I'm like, 'Oh, I gotta watch out.'"

Chace is currently starring in The Boys TV series, which is now in its fourth season. The Amazon Prime series sees Chace play Supe The Deep.
