A woman decided to name her daughter after a common household item but she only found out years later.
Baby names are a pretty personal choice - after all, you can't please everyone, and while some might absolutely love your little one's name, others will hate it.
Then there's the people who don't really care but have an unwelcome opinion anyway.

But it's pretty unfortunate if you're unhappy with your own name, which is what happened when one woman found out how her parents chose her moniker.
The mum took to Reddit to explain what happened, revealing she had 'made a bad choice' in telling her adult daughter how they'd come up with the name.
"I feel like I made bad choices because I just told my daughter (25f) how we came up with her name, and now she hates me," the mum explained.

Revealing how they decided, she explained she had been staring at the ceiling when the name suddenly came to her.
"When I was 22, her dad and I were laying in bed right after we found out we were having a girl," she added.
The mum explained that they were throwing names around when she suddenly looked over to a lamp and had a bit of a brainwave.

"We were trying to think of names. I looked over at a lamp and jokingly said, 'What about shade?', and for some reason, he loved it." she said.
"It kind of stuck, so I name named her that, except I spelled it 'Shaide'.
"She now knows the story behind her name, as we never thought to really tell her. Did I make a mistake with this?"
And Redditors couldn't take the post seriously, with many cracking jokes about other home-inspired names.

One person wrote: "Curtains would have been a good name. That would have given her closure."
While another said: "OP could save that gem for her own child. And how cute is 'Bulbe'?"
And a third added: "Way to throw Shaide at your own child lol.
"On a more serious note yes, you messed up, but since you commented that daughter dislikes being called shady and wants to change names."

Meanwhile, others were pretty harsh with their comments, with another writing: "When my husband's ex was pregnant with their second child they asked their son what the baby should be named. He said 'Table'.
"They didn't name him Table. He was four. You were 22. He had an excuse. You had no common sense. How you came up with the name is ridiculous. Why you stuck with it is perplexing."
