Ellen Degeneres has revealed the real reason why she and her wife, Portia De Rossi, never had kids.
The celebrity couple first tied the knot back in 2008, and they've recently fled the US to start a new life in the Cotswolds.
The reason behind the move is said to be Donald Trump's recent presidential re-election following the loss of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

However, despite being wed for over 16 years, the pair never ended up having children, and they've explained there are a litany of reasons why.
Back in 2014, The Ellen DeGeneres Show host explained she was concerned she would 'screw' her kids up and revealed she and Portia were satisfied with just having animals to raise instead.
"Honestly, we'd probably be great parents. But it's a human being, and unless you think you have excellent skills and have a drive or yearning in you to do that, the amount of work that that is and responsibility - I wouldn't want to screw them up!" she told People.

"We love our animals."
A year later, Ellen admitted to Today that while she loves kids, they are a pretty massive commitment - a commitment she and Portia felt was 'too risky' to keep to.
"I love kids, but that's such a big commitment. It seems long-term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with," she said.

"And I just don't know if I can - it's too risky."
Ellen then joked: "Like, what if I don't like the kid? What if it turns out that it's not as cute as I wanted or as talented?
"I'm gonna compare it to all these kids that I have on this show that are so smart and so funny. And I'm like, 'You are nowhere near these kids I had on today'."

Other than being satiated with just their animals and unsure of just how big of a commitment having children is, Ellen also revealed she was worried little ones running about her home could do some pretty major damage to the decor.
"We talked about [having kids] for a minute, about four years into the relationship, but we just decided we like our conversations not being interrupted and our furniture without sticky grape juice on it," she told the Daily Telegraph in 2016.
She added: "Also, I think in this profession it can be really tough for children. It's hard for them to have to share their parents with the world. I even see it with my nieces.
"When we're out in public and people want to talk to me they're like, 'Why does everybody want your time? Why aren't you just with me?'"
