Nikki Glaser has spoken about the 'insane' Ben Affleck joke she was forced to remove from her Golden Globes roast on Sunday evening (5 January).
The comedian, who was the first ever woman to solo host the Golden Globes this year, didn't hold back when it came to her opening monologue.
Glaser first took a swipe about Wicked's viral 'holding space' interview, featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Meanwhile, later on in the evening, Glaser made a hilariously savage joke about Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.
The loved-up couple - who just got engaged - could be seen up on the big screen as Glaser noted Gomez's nominations.
"Selena Gomez is here," she began. "A double nominee tonight for Emilia Perez and Only Murders [In The Building], and she's here tonight with her new fiancé Benny Blanco.
"And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie that granted that wish. Man, lucky guy."

Turns out, Glaser also had a joke about Affleck up her sleeve, but she decided to cut it.
Speaking with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, Glaser explained that she had to swap a few roasts for toasts instead.
“Am I gonna roast or am I gonna toast? You know what? I’m not roasting. I’m gonna toast," she told Stern.

“And I just did all these toasts that were roasts.
“Like, ‘Here’s to Ben Affleck, I can’t wait to see which Jennifer you try to ruin next.'”
Yikes.
This is, of course, a reference to Affleck having married and divorced two A-list Jennifers - Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez.

Glaser said she did push back, but it was decided it would have been 'insane' to go ahead with the joke.
“I argued like, ‘Oh, I didn’t say ruin them. I said he tried to ruin them so it’s not against them.’ But I was like, ‘That would have been insane.'”
Singer J.Lo and Gone Girl actor Ben finally tied the knot in 2022, but dramatically divorced just two years later.

At the time, fans were gutted, especially after the pair had already been engaged back in the early Noughties.
Speaking on her divorce, which she described as 'the hardest time' of her life, Lopez told Interview: "You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t.
"And then, this summer, I had to be like, 'I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'"
Prior to the two giving things another go, they married other people.
Ben married actress Jennifer Garner between 2005 and 2018, and the pair went on to have three children: Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 12.
Jen, on the other hand, wed Marc Anthony and welcomed twins Max and Emme, 16.
