The singer Grimes has revealed how long she was unable to see her child amid her tumultuous split from ex Elon Musk.
Grimes, aka Claire Boucher, has shared her heartbreak in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, which explained how her split impacted her relationship with her children.
Posting her tweet on November 20, she shared that she would not be releasing new music, due to how the ongoing custody battle has been taking its toll on her.

Grimes, 36, famously got together with Musk, 53, in May 2018 after debuting their relationship at a red carpet event.
Then, in May, 2020, the pair announced that she had given birth to their first son, X Æ A-Xii, four, before having their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, three, a year later and secretly having son Techno Mechanicus, two, in 2023 before breaking up for good.
The on-again off-again couple are currently going through a bitter battle over the custody arrangements of their children, with Grimes noting that she has ‘spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers' rights’ as well as ‘having my Instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn't have my kids’.

She added she was ‘fighting and detaching from the love if my life as he becomes unrecognizable to me, with a fraction of his resources (or iq/strategy experience)’.
Grimes explained how long she was without her children during this time of her life, sharing: "All the while I didn't see one of my babies for 5 months. And this is only what can be said publicly, since most of my experience these last years should remain behind closed doors."
The musician went on to divulge that she can't ‘go to court while having a young baby’ to a follower who asked why she is choosing not to release music.
She wrote: "Because the threat of losing ur kids while going bankrupt fighting for them is not very conducive to creative thoughts.

"I just slept and cried every minute I wasn't explicitly fighting for my kids during that year."
Grimes' mother, Sandy Garossino has also been vocal about what Musk has been putting her daughter through, accusing the Tesla creator of ‘withholding’ their children and not allowing them to visit their great-grandmother in Canada, who is sick.
Garossino, who is a columnist for Canada's National Observer, shared her thoughts on a threat via X, writing: “Dear Elon @elonmusk It was nice seeing you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card that I helped X make. He was so proud of it.

“I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you.
“As you know, my 93 year old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care. She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met.”
Garossino then accused him of keeping the children’s passports, writing: “I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire.
“It was even more troubling to see you and X on television at the Olympics in Paris yesterday, after your DC trip earlier in the week.”

She continued: “Where are the other children, and with whom? They are scheduled to be with their mother.
“They were expected here in Canada.”
