Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals she's given birth one year after prison release

The former convict shares her newborn with fiancé Ken Urker

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has welcomed her first child with fiancé Ken Urker, exactly one year after she was released from prison.

The formerly convicted second-degree criminal - who previously served eight years for the murder of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard - gave birth over the Christmas period, with Ken telling TMZ that they welcomed a child on 28 December.

He also told the publication they'd named the infant Aurora.

Ken and Gypsy previously dated while the latter was behind bars, before she called off their romance to marry now ex-husband Ryan Anderson.

She announced back in May, however, that she was seeking a divorce, and days later she revealed she'd rekindled with Ken.

It didn't take long for the couple to fall pregnant, with Gypsy revealing the news that the new couple were expecting in July with a YouTube video titled 'I'm Pregnant, My Journey So Far'.

"We’re both very excited, this was not planned at all it was completely unexpected but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood," she said in the announcement, alongside a sweet photo showing off her blossoming baby bump.

Since then, the criminal turned celebrity star has lifted the lid on every pregnancy milestone on her social media - including by detailing her uber-expensive baby registry list, and sharing a 3D scan of their incoming addition.

Now, however, the couple are officially parents, with Ken having since taken to social media to share a snap of new mum Gypsy and her beautiful baby girl.

In an upload shared today (1 Jan), he captioned the hospital picture: "Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all."

Their daughter's name wasn't a huge shock to fans of the couple, being that they'd previously told PEOPLE Magazine back in December of their intention to call her Aurora Raina if she looked as though she suited it.

"Ken came up with that," Gypsy previously revealed. "There's a whole backstory to it."

The 33-year-old went on to say: "Some people think that it's because of the Disney princess," said Blanchard, seemingly hinting at Sleeping Beauty.

"Some people think that it's because Kristy's [her step-mother's] dog is named Aurora Grace. It's not because of that."

She went on to reveal that the moniker had been inspired by a fascination that the couple had with the Northern Lights when she was in prison - a cosmic phenomenon whose proper name is Aurora Borealis.

"I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other's future kid's name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it," she added.
