Jason Mraz has revealed the extremely sweet reason why he told his friends not to vote for him on Dancing with the Stars.
The 47-year-old 'I'm Yours' singer finished up in second place last year on the 32nd season of the TV show, behind Xochitl Gomez, who finished in first place.
And now, he's opened up about exactly why he didn't want to stay in the dancing competition as long as he did.

Speaking to Modern Family star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, on his Dinner's On Me podcast, Jason explained he was hoping he'd get voted out so ee could go home to a special someone.
His cat.
"Two or three weeks in, I realised I’m probably going to be here the whole time, and I’m terrified, and I have to cancel all my plans for the entire rest of the year, and I’m missing my cat terribly," he revealed.

The singer-songwriter continued: "I start telling my friends, 'Stop voting for me!'"
Jason was clearly missing his four-legged friend so much that, at one point, he even told producers that he was 'good' and ready to say goodbye from the ABC programme.
It's clear his efforts were thwarted as, in the end, Jason went on to come second to the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness actor.
He added: "Having made it all the way to the very end, made it to the buzzer, I look back and laugh and think, 'Well, maybe if I’d actually given a s---!'.

"So, I would do it all over again if I could, and I would try really hard."
The Grammy award-winner also recently opened up about the reason why he kept his sexuality a secret for most of his life.
He said in the podcast: "In the ’90s, being gay was like [the] punchline of a joke. and I didn’t want to be the punchline of a joke."

The singer went on to explain that when he was a teenager, he decided to keep his 'nose down' and attempt to discover ways in which he 'could instead get out and see the world one day'.
Jason grew up in Virginia and explained the impact that had on his journey.
He added: "I still took with me the conservative street that I grew up on, and that was very hard to ignore or to break out of.
“I was very shy and and scared of what my family would say, or what my hometown would think or just whatever.”

He then clarified that he doesn't wish to 'throw anybody under the bus', and added: "My parents are very supportive. I love them very much."
Jason divulged to podcast host Jesse that he feels like a 'late bloomer'.
He went on to admit that it feels as though his life is 'just starting'.
The star concluded by saying: "I love where I am and I feel so much love for myself finally that can only enhance the next relationship. When I find one."
