Jennifer Lawrence revealed one fear she has about sex

Jennifer Lawrence revealed one fear she has about sex

Before she settled down with husband Cooke Maroney, there was one thing she was always worried about when it came to getting down and dirty

Whether it’s things getting stuck in places they shouldn’t or a slightly ambitious position, there’s no denying that sex can get a bit dicey for those who choose to jazz things up a bit.

But it turns out actor Jennifer Lawrence feels freaked out by something far less extreme when it comes to getting down and dirty.

These days, the 33-year-old is happily married to art gallery director Cooke Maroney – hilariously later admitting that their wedding was less-than-perfect, telling E! at the Golden Globes that her experience as a bride had been ‘awful’.

“It's so stressful,” she said as she reflected on her big day.

“You're not having fun. You're just like, 'Is that person having fun?'."

Three years after tying the knot, the couple welcomed their first child, a boy named Cy, who was born in February 2022.

But long before Lawrence settled down, there was one thing she was always worried about when it came to dating.

Back in 2018, while promoting her film Red Sparrow, she told The Sun: "I always talk like I want d**k, but the truth is when I look back at my sexual past it was always with boyfriends.

"I talk like I like it, but I don’t really do it."

You see, there’s one major fear Lawrence has when it comes to getting intimate.

"I am mostly also a germaphobe," she said.

"I have made it this far without an STI."

Lawrence then added: "D**k is dangerous.

"If I was at the point where I could get an STI, doctors have already been involved. That is how much of a germaphobe I am."

She added: "I am not in a relationship. I am making it clear that I have not had sex in a very long time.

"I would like to have a relationship, you know – it’s hard out there!"

Of course, Lawrence went on to meet Maroney, meaning the rest is history.

And in fairness to her, those fears may not be that irrational after all, considering the rate of infection the year she made those comments.

Yep, in 2018, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that about 20 percent of the US population – that’s one in five people – had an STI on any given day.

The CDC added that ‘STIs acquired that year will cost the American healthcare system nearly $16 billion in healthcare costs alone’.
