Love Island’s Joey Essex makes shocking admission about Jessy Potts just days after leaving villa

Love Island is officially over but that won't stop bombshell Joey Essex from making headlines - this time around for claiming he's ready to be a dad following his departure from the villa.

The 34-year-old reality TV veteran made a connection with 25-year-old scuba diver Jessy Potts on the show, and the two seem to be going from strength to strength in the outside world.

The pair made it far in the villa but ultimately lost out on being crowned King and Queen of the villa to Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube - the first Black couple to win in the show's history.

Many of the interviews with Essex have been rather tongue in cheek, with Joey telling The Sun: "I mean, I need a medic right now because my back is killing me because I carried that show so hard.”

But an interview with OK! Magazine, published yesterday (4 August), reveals a much softer, yet serious, side.

He revealed his plans for many, many babies with Potts.

He said: "We’ve already spoken about kids. We both want a big family. But we’re having a bit of a tiff at the moment. She wants four, I want eight. Imagine how great that would be?”

Nothing like being direct.

Potts responded: "Oh, my God, eight!? Joey would make a great dad, though, there’s no doubt about that."

Essex went on to add: "And Jessy would be an amazing mum. We’d be such good parents. I’m ready. I’d do it tomorrow. Maybe even tonight!”

It's thought that the pair are yet to say those three little words of 'I love you' to one another, though it sounds like they're just around the corner.

Essex shared a snap to Instagram following their departure from the villa that was captioned 'exclusive era', confirming the two are now officially in a relationship.

When being grilled about what she loves most about her man, Potts shared: "He’s very cheeky. He wears his heart on his sleeve and he’s always got my best interests at heart.”

Essex couldn't help but chime in about what he loves in return.

He said: "I like that she’s not a 'yes' girl. She tells me how it is. She’ll tell me when I’m right or wrong. Jessy is with me for real reasons. And I’m very wise on that. I can really tell when I’ve met a girl and all she cares about is fame, followers and everything else that comes with who I am. I know Jessy’s not about that. She’s actually with me for me.”
