JoJo Siwa clarifies what she meant by '48 hours' comment to Chris Hughes after fans left confused

JoJo Siwa explained the realisation she had at the time

Since leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house, JoJo Siwa has revealed what her '48 hours' comment to Chris Hughes meant.

During her time in the celeb-packed house, the 21-year-old social media sensation became an unlikely friend to the 32-year-old Love Island star.

From the moment they met, JoJo and Chris became closer and closer to one another, and he stuck up for her when she faced controversial comments from ex-housemate Mickey Rourke.

Viewers at home were able to watch as the pair were shared cuddles in bed and wrote secret messages to each other.

JoJo later opened up to Chris about her gender identity, and that she has met non-binary people who she relates the most to and began to question her own identity.

She then told her Big Brother housemates after admitting she’s realised she’s 'not a lesbian'.

The 21-year-old Dance Moms star revealed that she wished to identify as 'queer'.

During a private chat in the bedroom, she told RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner, Danny Beard: “I feel so queer.”

It's fair to say that JoJo had a very enlightening time on the show and shared the highs and lows with her newfound friends, particularly Chris.

However, one thing that has had people confused was a '48 hours' comment that has now been put to rest.

In the house, Chris asked JoJo how she was feeling and the dancer responded by saying she would need '48 hours' and then she would reveal it to him.

Viewers were left confused by this comment, with one person asking: "What do you mean 48 hours?!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN JOJO SIWA?!?"

JoJo has since clarified what she meant during an appearance on The Useless Hotline podcast with Max Balegde and George Clarke.

When she was asked what the most difficult moment on the show, she explained: “There's a moment where I spoke to Chris, I said 'Give me 48 hours and I'll tell you'. What I was feeling in that moment was the hardest, because that was when I had a real realisation in my life that I needed to for myself fix, personally fast. I needed to handle essentially immediately.”

While she kept her inner thoughts to herself about that issue, JoJo did confide in Chris a little, stating: “I just told him that little bit. He could see something was going on. That was something that I had been thinking about since day three. It engulfed me.”

She added: “I've got to do something as soon as I get out that I really am not looking forward to.”

While JoJo didn't clarify what she was referring to, it seems that action was to break up with Kath.

The pair, who had been together since the start of the year appeared to be doing great, but JoJo’s realisation cut their romance short, leaving Kath to go public with her heartbreak.

In a video, which was posted on 26 April, Kath claimed that they were a victim of love bombing and that they had been 'further humiliated' after wanting to 'work through' what they saw on the show.

Actor Kath said that JoJo broke up with them at the wrap party, before even getting to a hotel room.

The Australian admitted: “I feel so numbed out right now and so disorientated that I feel like the only thing I have to do to place this situation is to finally address it after two weeks of sitting back watching certain things unfold and not being able to get any clarity from the person that it involved.

“It seems to me I have experienced a version of [love bombing]. Being told I’m the love of someone’s life, being asked to marry them before this social experiment.

“Being adored throughout behind closed doors. Being hurt by what I saw but wanting to work through it and have a conversation and get clarity.

“To be met with, yeah, being further humiliated in a weird way. That’s more of a feeling, I don’t know if it’s fact.”

However, during an appearance on This Morning yesterday (28 April), JoJo addressed the split.

“I'll be honest, that was not a plan, that was not an intention, that was not supposed to happen like that,” she said, before adding: “They straight up asked me if I was happy, and I said no. And, you know, one thing led to another, and that conversation did take place there.”
