Fellow comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont tied the knot back in 2015, and earlier this year announced their separation - leaving fans of the duo feeling very awkward about a divorce joke Richardson once made.
Richardson, best known for his appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and Beaumont, an award-nominated comic, announced that they were to go their separate ways in April.
The two were at the centre of Dave comedy series Meet the Richardsons between the years of 2020 and 2023, in which they portrayed exaggerated versions of themselves.

Announcing their separation, Richardson posted on social media: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated.
"We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.
"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being.

"We will be making no further comment."
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Beaumont has opened up about life without Richardson, and an old joke has reared it's ugly head.
The interviewer, Laura Pullman, notes: "Their 'marriage as art' show now makes for strange viewing: still funny, but suddenly sad too. In the pilot episode Beaumont says that she doesn’t know how much her husband — then a better known comedian than her for his appearances on shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats — is worth, so she has to google it. 'Or divorce me. Let the lawyers find out,' Richardson replies."

The piece also notes that 'newspaper reports revealed that Richardson paid her £1.625 million in June for her shares in This Guy at Night Limited, a company they ran together. Records also showed that they own a home in Sheffield thought to be worth £1 million, and a flat in north London.'
It is also noted that Beaumont is 'sanguine' when approached about the idea that being married to Richardson helped bolster her career.
Beaumont stated: "It’s worth being honest, I was worried that I maybe wouldn’t earn a living, or that people would think, ‘You were the wife of somebody.’ It did massively help and we enjoyed working together.
"I’d like to think it’s more that if you do a series of something for five years it will get you known."
