Justin Bieber fans were left in shock after learning how much the singer was paid to perform at a private gig earlier this year.

We all know that pop stars are paid mega bucks, but despite the generous salary associated with the glamorous career, fans are calling it a 'tasteless display' of money.

Earlier this year, Bieber performed for Indian billionaire heir, Anant Ambani, and his fiancée Radhika Merchant at their pre-wedding celebrations in Mumbai.

As part of the private gig, Bieber is said to have performed tracks including 'Baby', 'Love Yourself' and 'Peaches' - and he was apparently paid a pretty hefty fee for the appearance.

It's said that the father-of-one took home a whopping $10m (£7.8m) according to reports.

One person commented on social media: "Tasteless display of $$$."

Another shared: "$10M could’ve paid for flushable toilets across India."

"Awful message for society today," said a third.

However, some fans commented on how 'easy' the fee must be for Bieber, who played less than his usual tour set.

One person posted online: "That’s the smile of a man that just made the easiest 10 m ever."

Another added: "Only 10 mill that’s nothing for a billionaire I’d hold out for at least 20!"

"Bieber said I ain’t gonna shave or nothing. Just wear a white tank and show up and do my thing. What a flex. Easy," said a third.

Tyla has reached out to Bieber's reps for comment.

In other Bieber news, the singer issued a heartbreaking plea after being diagnosed with a disease common among celebrities.

Back in 2020, after months of speculation regarding his absence from the spotlight, the singer broke the news that he'd been dealt a brutal blow to his health - he'd been diagnosed with Lyme disease.

The condition - which is caused by an infection prompted by a tick bite - is actually surprisingly common, especially in the celebrity realm, with countless other stars having previously opened up about their own health battles.

Sharing the news online at the time, Bieber wrote: "I've been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.

"It's been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever."
