Justin Bieber fans were keeping a very close eye on his second Coachella performance, and it did not take long for them to spot one detail they found pretty brutal.

The Canadian singer, 32, returned to the festival for weekend two after his first headline set seriously divided opinion online.

While some fans were delighted to see him back on such a huge stage after years away from touring, others were less convinced by the stripped-back feel of the show.

His first Coachella set saw him perform newer songs from SWAG and SWAG II, before he brought out a laptop and sang along to some of his older music videos on YouTube. This time around, however, many viewers agreed Bieber seemed more confident on stage.

On the other hand, fans watching clips from the second performance noticed that some people in the crowd did not appear to know the lyrics or sing along with him.

Given that Bieber was performing to thousands at one of the biggest festivals in the world, the reaction left some social media fans on X (formerly Twitter) feeling pretty sad for him.

One person wrote on X: ".@justinbieber you better memorize those faces because they were NOT singing"

Another said: "justin bieber saw that nobody knew the lyrics and remained on stage for the remainder of the show #BIEBERCHELLA", followed with a clip of woman just making random noises.

A third added: ".@justinbieber keep your a*s on stage because these people don’t know the lyrics and don’t deserve you #BIEBERCHELLA"

And one particularly unimpressed fan wrote: "all the men in this crowd not singing go THE F**K HOME WHY DID YOU PAY #BIEBERCHELLA"

The comments came after fans spoke out against Bieber’s first Coachella set, with some viewers branding it underwhelming due to the lack of big production, dancers, and outfit changes.

Others defended the singer, arguing that the more relaxed approach was clearly intentional and that the crowd at home seemed to enjoy it more than some of the people actually standing there.

Despite the awkward crowd reaction, not everyone was focusing on the negative. Plenty of fans praised Bieber’s second weekend performance, with some saying he appeared far more settled than he did the first time around.

One X user wrote: "Justin’s Weekend 2 has performance is already leagues ahead of weekend 1 wow."

Another declared: "WEEKEND 2 IS OFFICIALLY BETTER THAN WEEKEND 1 #Bieberchella"

A third viewer also said: "seriously weekend 2 just rocked so much harder"

Elsewhere, one viral post joked: "Week 1 Coachella attendees seeing Justin Bieber put more effort into his Week 2 performance", backed by a clip of Vanessa's 'Bubbly's in the Fridge' meltdown from Eastenders.

The replies also showed that many fans were rooting for Bieber after a shaky first weekend, with one person pointing out that he seemed more comfortable the second time around.
