Justin Bieber fans have been left seriously confused at his latest post after he suddenly unfollowed his wife, Hailey Bieber, on social media.

The couple, who have been married since 2018, regularly make appearances on each other's Instagram pages - something they've carried on doing since welcoming their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, last year.

However, the 30-year-old 'Baby' singer baffled his followers earlier this afternoon (21 January) when they made the bombshell discovery he unfollowed his own wife and mother of his child on the social media platform.

Hailey, 28, however, still follows her hubby on Instagram - but that's not stopped an avalanche of break-up rumours emerge from concerned fans of the couple.

"Is this the modern way of announcing a breakup," one questioned, as another confessed: "Wow didn’t see this one coming."

Others, however, believe the social media move might be somewhat of a PR stunt, and that the singer is actually using the attention as a means of creating hype surrounding future musical works.

"Attention seeking behaviour. Pr stunt to promote his album. Both of them," one critic slammed in response to the unfollowing news, while another predicted: "Seeking attention for his new music."

"I think he did it on purpose to make some noise," a third explained.

Another sceptic wrote online: "He knows he is coming to flop with his new album its giving pr its giving desperate".

Their suggestions come just days after some fans convinced themselves the 'What Do You Mean' hitmaker is set to make an imminent return to the entertainment industry in the coming months.

Fans were also quick to point out that, just two days ago, Justin posted snaps of Hailey on his IG page.

He's been sharing a number of snaps papped by photographer, Rory Kramer, one of which showed him and Hailey holding hands while ice-skating.

A second in a separate photo dump saw the pair putting their middle fingers up to the camera while a third selfie saw the Rhode CEO sticking her tongue out as Justin posed in shades and a hooded coat.

And a fourth snap saw the couple in ski-gear drinking some hot beverages in takeaway cups

"Justin Bieber has unfollowed Hailey Bieber on Instagram. The couple were spotted in Aspen, Colorado yesterday," announced one X user.

A second declared: "This was 100% an accident, Justin Bieber just posted a sweet message to his wife and Hailey Bieber liked his picture yesterday."

"Just yesterday Justin posted these pics of Hailey on his Instagram. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet," warned a third.

And it wasn't just Hailey who Justin unfollowed, as he did the same to ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, too.

After noticing, a fan took to X to write: "Justin Bieber unfollowing Hailey and Selena? Bold move - Instagram drama is the new 'One Less Lonely Girl'. #UnfollowGate."
