Following almost four years of nearly-fatal health woes, TV star Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper remains in hospital in a severe condition.
The former politician - who has been suffering with Covid-caused health complications since March 2020 - suffered a heart attack just weeks before Christmas, after which has was left 'fighting for his life'.
A source told The Sun at the time: "Everyone is praying for a miracle. Derek suffered a massive heart attack earlier this week which has left him fighting for his life all over again.

"It was sudden and a shock as he had been doing so well and was in great spirits, looking forward to Christmas at home with the family.
"This setback has been a huge blow for his family and all the people caring for him."
The insider went on: "Derek has fought so many times, and always, against all odds, come out the other side.
"Kate has been utterly incredible — by his side while being an amazing mum to Darcey and Billy, and trying to manage their expectations of a family Christmas."

Since then, Good Morning Britain presenter Kate, 56, and her two children are said to have spent almost every day by Derek's hospital bedside.
"It's been a heartbreaking time for Kate and, of course, poor Derek," another source told the publication days after Derek was rushed to hospital.
"Sadly, his condition remains much the same. The children are aware of the situation and have been by their dad's bedside as much as possible.

"The whole family is rallying around and trying to stay strong for one another. At Christmas time, this is especially devastating."
Over the last three years, he has been induced into a coma, lost his ability to speak, received around-the-clock care from medical staff and flown to Mexico to undergo experimental treatment.
ITV star Kate took a huge step back from her impressive presenting career earlier this year to prioritise Derek's care.

Prior to that, however, Kate revealed during an appearance on Loose Women that Derek had returned to hospital due to experiencing a bout of ‘referrals and cancellations’.
"He's actually back in the hospital at the moment," she told viewers in November.
"I haven't talked about this, but not the horrific drama fortunately, because there have been lots of, as we all experience, referrals and cancellations."
She added that he had been remitted due to something which had begun ‘last year’ which he needed the ‘second part of’.
