Kelly Rowland says accidentally sharing gender of Beyoncé’s baby was the ‘worst moment ever’

When you're a mum-to-be, I imagine some of the best parts about the pregnancy are getting to announce that you're having a baby, and revealing what the gender will be.

There are literally entire extravagant parties designed for the latter, so obviously it's a pretty big deal. Unfortunately for Beyoncé, however, she had that moment accidentally stolen from her by Kelly Rowland.

Rowland, who is a mum-of-two herself, opened up about her accidental revelation when she appeared on the aptly-named podcast, Yeah, I F**ked That Up.

It all went down in 2011, when the world knew that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were about to become parents, but had no idea whether they'd be welcoming a boy or a girl.

The two stars had obviously decided only to share that information with a few people close to them, including Beyoncé's former Destiny's Child bandmate, Rowland.

Unfortunately, that fact slipped Rowland's mind when she sat down to chat with Bang Showbiz, where the topic turned to Beyoncé's growing belly.

“I’m so happy for my sister and her husband,” Rowland said. “They’re so happy in this moment right now, as they should be. They’ve made a little bundle of love, I’m so excited for them.”

So far, so good, right?

That didn't last long, however.

Rowland continued: "I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won’t be spoiled but she will be very well looked-after.”

Just a couple of sentences - that's all it took to let the cat out of the bag.

Rowland has since said she didn't realise what she had said until later, when headlines began to circulate and share the news.

Beyoncé is now a mum of three.

Recalling the disastrous moment during her appearance on the podcast, Rowland said: "Oh, my God. When I made a mistake and told the sex of [Beyoncé]’s baby when she was pregnant with Blue. That was the worst moment ever. It was bad because it was no one’s business."

Rowland went on to say she felt 'terrible' because the announcement wasn't her's to make.

"It was honestly the worst. It wasn’t my news to share, and I didn’t mean it like that. The ‘she’ just kind of slipped out," she said.

Though it's unfortunate that Beyoncé didn't get to reveal Blue's gender herself, at least she went on to welcome a healthy baby girl, who has since joined her mum in performing on stage and proving that girls really do run the world.
