Kim Kardashian has lifted the lid on a rare health condition that one of children has been diagnosed with.

The US reality star - who shares her four kids with rapper ex-husband Kanye West - appeared on the She MD podcast earlier this week, where she not only revealed the recently-diagnosed disease, but explained that it is 'hereditary'.

Who are Kim Kardashian's children?

As we say, 43-year-old Kim is a mother-of-four, having birthed her eldest two children naturally, and welcomed her youngest via surrogate.

Though she and former flame Kanye are no longer together - having tied the knot back in 2014 before divorcing in 2022 - they have continued to co-parent their four youngsters ever since.

The ex-couple are parents to two daughters, 11-year-old North and six-year-old Chicago, as well as two sons, Saint, eight, and Psalm, five.

Which child has been diagnosed with the rare condition?

Appearing on the popular lifestyle podcast earlier this week, Keeping Up With The Kardashians frontwoman Kim opened up about a disease that one of her children had recently been diagnosed with.

Though the TV star opted not to name which youngster it was, she did disclose that the fate had befallen one of her sons.

How did Kim reveal the diagnosis?

Speaking to podcast hosts - gynaecologist Dr Thais Aliabadi and women's advocate Mary Alice Haney - Kim began the discussion.

"My son has an auto-immune disease and they said it’s hereditary and so we were trying to figure it out," she explained, revealing that the condition was vitiligo.

Adding that the disease 'came from from my mum [Kris Jenner]', Kim said that it then 'went to me, and I passed it on in a different form to my son'.

The SKIMS bosses continued to admit: "I didn’t know anything about it, but having to learn about it and figuring out where it came from and that it’s hereditary and just learning more and being able to share that has been a blessing."

What is vitiligo?

This rare disease describes a long-term condition which sees pale white patches of skin develop in certain areas of the body, due to a lack of melanin.

While it can affect any area of the body, vitiligo is more commonly found on the face, neck and hands, as well as within the creases of the skin.

This, in turn, makes these areas of the body more partial to sunburn, with doctors encouraging vilitigo-sufferers to take extra care when it comes to applying SPF.

It's said that Vitiligo affects around one percent of the entire world's population.
