Kylie Jenner's Coachella antics have sparked a social media debate after she shared a picture smoking a cigarette online.

Along with a slew of other celebrities and influencers, the 28-year-old reality TV star attended both weekends of the star-studded California music desert, at the Empire Polo Club in the Colorado desert.

Headlined by Justin Bieber, Karol G, and Sabrina Carpenter, pictures and videos from the annual event have been dominating everyone's Instagram feeds and giving us all serious FOMO.

But, one snap shared by Kylie in her weekend one Instagram dump included a specific picture that left some fans disappointed.

Last week, the makeup mogul shared a carousel of photos and videos from the festival, with the front slide being a photo of her posing under the fluorescent lights with a cigarette in her mouth.

Now, while we all know that smoking can have some serious health consequences, in recent years, it seems to be resurging as a 'cool' and 'trendy' aesthetic among Gen Z and young adults.

From Charli XCX to Dua Lipa, several celebrities have been spotted with a cig in recent times, or have posted pictures with one themselves on social media - and it's seriously dividing opinion.

Under Kylie's controversial post, one Instagram user wrote: "She didn’t get the memo that cigarettes aren’t cool," while a second urged: "No girls, we are not smoking. Don’t you dare pick up this habit."

A third penned: "Smoking?? What a terrible example" and a fourth questioned: "So we promoting cigs now?"

"Yuck cigarettes?! You’re too beautiful for that!," brutally quipped a fifth.

And a fifth didn't hold back when they told Kylie: "Smoking isn't cool anymore. Nobody is trying to bring it back either. Get a clue."

"Smoking cigarettes is not sexy. It’s stupid," added a sixth, meanwhile a seventh agreed, "Smoking is not cool, and you have influence over millions of kids looking at your account… are you insane?"

However, some fans have rushed forward to defend the Kardashians star, claiming that this isn't a new habit of Kylie's and people should 'mind their own business'.

Someone wrote: "She’s been smoking cigs for a while. y’all are just late," while a second joked: Everyone freaking out over the smoking could use a cigarette"

"How about people minding their own business if someone smokes or not, and do your own thing for a change, isn’t it my body my choice and all that? Or only when it suits people," demanded a third.

While a fourth chimed in with: "Y’all don’t get the point, nobody said smoking is cool, maybe she just does it because she wants to."

Tyla has contacted a representative for Kylie for comment.
