Kelly Osbourne blasts 'disturbing' celebrities for using LA wildfires as ‘photo op’ in scathing rant

Kelly Osbourne took to Instagram to share her 'confusion' on the matter

Kelly Osbourne has taken aim at 'disturbing' celebrities for allegedly using the Los Angeles wildfires as a 'photo op' in a scathing rant.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week, Osbourne shared her thoughts on the devastating LA fires which have since claimed the lives of 25 people as well as forcing more than 100,000 locals to evacuate their homes.

In the now-deleted video, the 40-year-old began: "Is it me being my normal overthinking, cynical self or is it really disturbing seeing all of these celebrities using other people's pain and suffering as a photo op to say, 'Look, I'm helping, I'm doing this, I'm doing that'."

The TV personality continued to claim: "I don't believe you help so that you get attention for helping, I believe you help because you want to

"I'm so confused, I think it's so wrong.

"No-one asked you to come out and give hugs."

"Go home," she signed off.

Now, while Osbourne hasn't confirmed which celebrities in question she was referring to - some reckon it could be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who recently showed up at an evacuation zone offering food to those hit by the disaster.

The pair were defended after Family Ties star Justine Bateman took to social media to share her thoughts on what she believed was an insensitive 'photo op'.

Bateman wrote on X on Sunday (12 January): "Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers."

She continued: "What a repulsive 'photo op' they achieved. They are 'touring the damage'? Are they politicians now? They don't live here; they are tourists."

Bateman finished off the scathing tweet by dubbing the pair 'disaster tourists'.

Footage captured by Fox 11 Los Angeles showed Harry and Markle in Pasadena on Friday (10 January) talking with the city’s mayor, Victor Gordo, as well as emergency workers tackling the Eaton Fire.

Gordo told reporters: "This is their second visit today. We were here earlier today and they were serving food, anonymously. No one knew they were serving food, with masks on.

"They didn't come out here for publicity. They came out here to work.

"Then we went to visit some of the families in the impacted area and view first-hand some of the impacted area.

"Then they wanted to go visit the first responders and personally thank them for their efforts to help our families and our neighbours."

Tyla previously contacted representatives of Meghan and Harry for comment.
