Getting engaged to Machine Gun Kelly back in 2022 was bittersweet for actress Megan Fox - literally.
That's because rockstar rapper had designed his Transformer beau's diamond ring specifically to cause her physical pain if she ever tried to remove it from her finger.
This, she eventually did a matter of months later, when the couple shocked fans by sensationally calling off their wedding plans following mass speculation over the status of their relationship.

So, despite it being considered at the time one of the happiest days of 38-year-old Fox's life, the sweet gesture likely drew some blood.
For those in need of a reminder of the exes' passionate romance, the couple met in 2020 on the set of 2021 serial killer flick Midnight in the Switchgrass. Fox later told GQ Style she immediately felt a connection to the rockstar rapper.
"It was obvious from second one what it was going to be," she explained. "I did not anticipate walking right into my soulmate like that.

"I was obviously over the way I had been living, and those paths lined up, those doors opened. It was [as if] all the obstacles that had kept us apart all those years [had been removed] and we were able to finally intersect."
Two years later, 34-year-old MGK popped the all-important question, with the couple sharing a video on Instagram of him getting down on one knee.
"Yes, in this life and every life," the rapper captioned the clip.
"Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, i brought her back to ask her to marry me."

MGK proposed with a gorgeous diamond and emerald ring designed by Stephen Webster.

In an interview with Vogue, he later revealed that the gem he gave to Fox - who, this week, welcomed her first child with the 'Bloody Valentine' musician - would 'hurt' her if she ever tried to take it off.
"The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet,” the Texan native told the publication in 2022.

"So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…"
He added: "Love is pain!"
And it's very likely the mother-of-four, who shares her three eldest children with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, endured such pain when she announced last March that their wedding was off.

Making an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Jennifer's Body star revealed that she and MGK were no longer engaged.
"I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption," she explained.
"I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se. What I can say is [he] is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul’ and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what.
"I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain."
Following almost a year filled with relationship rumours, Fox broke the news on 17 November that the pair were expecting their first child together.

"Nothing is ever really lost," she captioned the post at the time. "Welcome back."
The following month, however, both PEOPLE and TMZ reported that the pair had split up - and since then, Fox has remained silent.
MGK confirmed yesterday (27 March) that she'd given birth to a baby girl.
Informing their fans of the news on social media, he wrote: "She’s finally here!! Our little celestial seed."
The post was coupled with a short but sweet video of the infant's tiny hand.
