A Suits producer this week confirmed that Meghan Markle 'always' has an 'open invitation' to return to the hit legal series.
Naturally, however, the exciting revelation has prompted some comments the Duchess previously made about a potential acting comeback to resurface.
In the years prior to her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, the American actress made a global name for herself as paralegal-turned-attorney Rachel Zane - the love interest of central character Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams) - in the award-winning series.

The 43-year-old appeared on the show for seven seasons between 2011 to 2018.
Her final instalment aired a month before she and Harry tied the knot, and since then, she's been forced to step back from showbiz.
The Duchess' upcoming return to screens next month, however, as part of her new self-fronted Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, left some fans wondering whether she'd ever return to acting full-time.
But Meghan has previously spoken on the matter, and it doesn't seem likely we'll see her as Rachel Zane on our screens anytime soon.

Speaking to Vanity Fair back in 2022, Meghan admitted she couldn't see a return to acting ever happening, claiming the 'entire culture' of the entertainment industry has changed since her retirement.
Asked directly if she'd ever go after a showbiz role again, she gave a pretty definitive response.
"I left Suits right after the 100th episode, in 2018," she told the publication at the time.

"I didn't think I'd ever be in the entertainment industry again. But the entire culture has changed; streamers have changed things.
"The ability to create zeitgeist moments like we had in the '90s — where everyone would tune in at the same time for a show or gather for one moment? — that doesn't happen anymore."
Meghan continued: "When I was doing Suits, that character, Rachel Zane, was in your living room with you while you were in your pajamas eating Chinese takeout. That's how connected the experience felt then.
"But to create a cultural moment or conversation requires something different today. Podcasting has been really interesting in that way.

"It might be one of the only remaining forums where people are alone to listen. Where else do you have that opportunity?"
Ultimately, asked if she would go back to acting, she said: "No. I'm done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not."

This comes as Suits creator Aaron Korsh, who is also behind spin-off series Suits LA. Korsh confirmed on the red carpet this week that Meghan would always be welcomed to either set with open arms.

"Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back," he told press.
And after being asked if the invitation is always open, he resounded: "Of course. Of course. Always.
"But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that. Yeah."
