Just hours after Hollywood superstar Barbra Streisand made a rather controversial remark on one of her Instagram uploads, actor Melissa McCarthy has given an iconic response.
For those unfamiliar with the drama, Funny Girl actor Barbra, 82, found herself in hot water with her colossal fan-base yesterday (30 April) after making a rather savage comment about Bridesmaids star Melissa's weight.

On Sunday evening, comedian Melissa shared a glamorous snap showing her walking arm-in-arm with film director pal Adam Shankman in Los Angeles on Sunday at CTG's The Gala 2024.
In the snap, the 53-year-old could be seen donning a plush mint gown, which she paired with a matching blazer and iconic go-go boots.
While hundreds of fans flooded the comments with compliments, gushing over the star's glowing new look, singer Barbra sparked huge controversy amid her's and Melissa's fan base.

"Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?" she penned in a since-deleted comment.
For those unfamiliar with the hotly-debated new 'weight loss hack', Ozempic is actually a series of injections aimed to treat those suffering from Type 2 diabetes.
In turn, Barba's rather blunt question has landed her in social media users' bad-books, with one hitting out: "What happened to not taking about Bodies! As a mother of a daughter that’s not ok we as women need to not focus on appearance."

Another went on: "I’m so totally taken aback that you could ask her that on Social Media for all to see? I love and adore you, truly, but that disappointed me".
A third continued: "Whether she did or did not is no one else’s business".
Since then, however, both Barbra and Melissa have responded to the drama.
Taking to both Instagram and X, the Barbra released a statement claiming she was trying to pay the actor 'a compliment'.

Barbra wrote: "OMG - I went on Instagram to see the photos we'd posted of the beautiful flowers I'd received for my birthday. Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy, who I sang with on my encore album.
"She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!"
As mentioned, however, it isn't just Barbra that has since responded, with mother-of-two Melissa also having now spoken out.

In an Instagram clip - captioned '@barbrastreisand fan club members only!!!' - she posted at the premier of her brand new movie Unfrosted, the star could be reading a magazine centred around the A Star Is Born actor.
The camera then panned out, with Melissa exclaiming: "The takeaway. Barbra Streisand knows I exist!"
She continued, revealing the star 'reached out to me and she said I look good'.
"I win the day," she added.
Clearly, there's no bad blood here!
