Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright today announced the arrival of their baby girl, but what is the meaning behind her name?
The announcement comes just weeks after the couple first shared the news of their pregnancy, which they have kept very private.
On 29 December, they rang in the New Year by sharing a picture taken on the beach where the Our Girl actress could be seen showing off her baby bump. "2025 is going to be a special one for us," she wrote alongside the image.

Earlier today (March 12), the new parents shared the news on Instagram about the arrival of their baby.
Keegan, 37, and Wright, 38, shared a sweet black and white image of their daughter along with a message confirming she was born almost a week before the post, on 6th March.

"Together we have a new love to share,” she wrote in the caption. “"Our little girl," alongside a white love-heart.

Lots of congratulatory messages were shared, wishing the pair well after adding a new addition to their family. Wright's cousin and fellow former The Only Way Is Essex star Elliott gushed: "Can’t wait to meet her xxx".
"Ffs I’m crying over here," fitness fanatic Joe Wicks said. "I know how much you’ve wanted to be a dad and you’ll be an amazing dad too.
The couple also confirmed their daughters name - Palma Elizabeth Wright.
Although they have yet to confirm why they decided on this name, the moniker is of Spanish origin and also has roots in Italian, Latin and Portuguese.

Palma means palm tree, honey and sweetness and translates to “palm”.
So cute!
Keegan has spoken in the past about being continuously asked when she and Wright would be having kids.

"I get asked about children whereas Mark wouldn't for example," she told Women's Health. "'Why haven't I had a child? When am I going to have a child?' I don't know what they want me to say. I don't know what the right or wrong answer is."
When asked if her family ever ask, she added: "Not any more!... People don’t mean any harm by it, but they know what the answer’s going to be."
Keegan also urged people not to ask couples about when they're planning on starting a family, telling The Mirror: “It’s horrible. People don’t know if we’re trying. They don’t know the background of what’s happening. In this day and age, you shouldn’t be asking questions like that. I’m asked purely because I’m a woman.
"But I’m immune to it now – it’s like a reaction, and as soon as I hear it I brush it off as it’s no one else’s business.”
