We've all told a porky pie or two over the years but, I'd hope, most people come clean about their fibs not too long after telling them.
Well, that was far from the case with Miley Cyrus as she admitted that she lied to her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, about when she lost her virginity and kept the secret for nearly an entire decade.
Now, the 31-year-old 'Flowers' singer was just a teenager when she met Liam, 34, after starring in the romance flick, The Last Song, back in 2010.

The pair went on to get married in 2018 but ended up parting ways less than a year later as a representative said they wanted to 'focus on themselves and careers'.
However, years before the wedding, when things were at their early stages between the couple, Miley admitted she wasn't initially completely honest with Liam when it came to the subject of her virginity.
Sitting down with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Hannah Montana star explained that she was 'attracted to girls way before [she] was ever attracted to guys'.

"I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it ― so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me," she revealed.
"The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl — two of them."
Miley also noted that these first hookups went 'past first base' but that she 'didn't go all the way with a dude' until she was 16-years-old.

“But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy," she added.
She told Alex that the Hunger Games actor was in fact the first guy she'd ever slept with, however, this was something she didn't admit to at the time.
And the reason why?

Well, Miley confessed that she was worried Liam may have thought she was a 'loser' for not doing the deed before, so she decided to tell him that she'd already lost her virginity to someone else.
"I couldn’t think of anyone so I just made somebody up that I knew but we’d never actually had sex before," she said.
She also admitted that she 'held on' to the lie for nearly 10 years, and only ever came clean when one of Liam's mates ended up marrying the man she claimed to have lost her virginity to.
"So then [Liam] was like, 'Now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with,'" Cyrus recalled. "So then ― when I was like 24 ― I had to say that I lied when I was 16."
