You’d expect an A-lister like Miley Cyrus to spend her free time constantly being surrounded by a gaggle of equally famous faces.
After all, she’s grown up in the spotlight, so she’d be forgiven for arguing it’s all she’s ever known.
But it turns out that couldn't be further from the truth, as the pop singer admitted she actually doesn’t have many big names in her inner circle.
In an interview in the new series of Netflix's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, Cyrus, 31, explained why she doesn’t maintain many friendships with those in showbiz.

However, she said there are some exceptions, although those exceptions sound more than justified when you hear who they are.
"I am not very active or a very active part of my community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities,” Cyrus said.
“It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room. But there are certain artists.”
She added: "Like Beyoncé — who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time."

I mean, fair enough. Surely no one’s going to deny being pals with BEYONCÉ.
There’s a reason why she allows Ms Knowles to break her rule, too.
Cyrus recalled the time she performed charity single ‘Just Stand Up’ as part of a supergroup with the Destiny’s Child star, alongside the likes of Mary J. Blige, Carrie Underwood, Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield and Ashanti.

She was ‘probably 15’ when she got involved in the performance, which was part of the 2008 Stand Up to Cancer telethon.
Cyrus added: "I was, like, sandwiched between Rihanna and the Queen Bey, and they’re fully grown up, gorgeous, probably similar to my age now.
“Towering over me, completely stunning. I’m like, super small, have acne, have braces on the back of my teeth, and I’m standing next to Mariah Carey, who is dripping in diamonds.
“And Beyoncé was so kind to me.”

The pair recently collaborated for a track on Beyoncé's latest album, Cowboy Carter, meaning Cyrus now feels their glitzy friendship is actually 'a bit more in-depth'.
She then told Letterman: "We haven’t ever had this conversation, so now maybe you and I may be more friends than I’m friends with Beyoncé, but Beyoncé and I have just the kindness and the consistency of everything.
"I’m part of my community in that way, but it’s all quantity — not quality.

"I’m not very active in that."
