Pamela Anderson shows off her natural beauty after sharing tragic reason for ditching makeup

Pamela Anderson is having a make-up-free moment, having first famously ditched her beauty products to attend Paris Fashion Week in October.

In the months since, the Baywatch star stepped out at the 2023 Fashion Awards au naturel and has been prone to upload bare-faced snaps to social media.

One of her latest Instagram posts - which was shared with her 3.2 million followers - saw the 56-year-old doing an ad for laundry detergent and promoting self-care while looking fresh-faced.

Of course, Pamela hasn’t always embraced a stripped-back look and was once synonymous with glamour.

In the ‘90s, the Barb Wire icon routinely opted for a dark smoky eye, heavy foundation, beige, lined lips and thin, dark eyebrows.

Last year, her look became somewhat of a TikTok trend as #Pamcore reigned supreme.

The social media movement came about after Disney+’s drama series Pam & Tommy premiered on the platform.

#Pamcore saw women donning high-cut red swimsuits, baby tee's and contrasting PVC with ultra-feminine details such as lace-ups.

The iconic ‘Pam’ hairstyle was also all the range, thanks to Lily James’ dramatic transformation into Pamela.

However, the ex-supermodel decided to go against the grain earlier this year and opted to start making public appearances without her make-up bag - a choice she said was rooted in her desire for ‘freedom’.

As per Glamour, Pamela explained in a newsletter: “Something just kind of came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, I don’t want to compete with the clothes.

“I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room. I feel like it’s just freedom. It’s a release.”

In August, the mum-of-two revealed that there was another heartbreaking reason behind her simplified beauty routine.

Speaking to Elle, the star revealed that dropping her bombshell look came shortly after she suffered a personal loss.

Pamela’s make-up artist and friend, Alexis Vogel, died after suffering from breast cancer in 2019, and the actor decided to abandon her signature style in her honour.

Speaking to the publication, she said: “She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”

Pamela also claimed that it has been ‘freeing, fun and a little bit rebellious’ to debut a new look.

She added: “Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite what everyone’s doing.”

Pamela also claimed that women start to look ‘a little funny’ as they mature and that she regularly laughs at herself in the mirror.

“I go, ‘Wow, this is really...what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey," she admitted. “I feel rooted for. I feel good. I’m in a good place.”
