16 months after sensationally resigning from television, Phillip Schofield will be returning to our screens.
The former This Morning presenter is set to star in a Channel 5 special titled Cast Away, which will see him 'marooned on an inhabited tropical island off the coast of Madagascar for 10 days'.
The 62-year-old - who previously hosted the likes of This Morning and Dancing On Ice alongside former co-host Holly Willoughby - teased the news yesterday (24 September) on his Instagram Story.

"Watch this space…9am," he penned alongside an emoji.
According to The Sun newspaper, the show will see the disgraced star reflecting on the events of the last two years.
Channel 5 also released a teaser of the 'brand new' desert island show yesterday, though opted not to reveal who'd be starring on the show.
Schofield quit his long-standing presenting roles on ITV in May 2023, after the news of his affair with a younger, male colleague was made public.

The TV frontman admitted to the scandal, and branded the relationship 'unwise but not illegal' before undergoing several bombshell interviews with the press.
He said at the time: "I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family."I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife."
Speaking to The Sun last year, the father-of-two claimed he'd 'lost everything' when the affair came to light, adding that the fallout had a 'catastrophic effect' on his mental health.

Schofield even went as far as to admit that the scandal had left him wondering if and how he could go on living.
An external review carried out by Jane Mulcahy KC in December declared that ITV had previously made 'considerable efforts' to determine the facts regarding Schofield's relationship with the unnamed colleague, who worked as a runner on the show.
The investigation was 'unable to uncover the relevant evidence', however, until Schofield's own admission in May.

The report continued: "I am satisfied that PX’s promotion to a role of production secretary on another daytime programme had nothing to do with PS.
"Further, the only agreement between ITV and PX under which he was paid any settlement sum was a standard agreement ending the employment relationship dated 31 July 2021."
Five months after Schofield's departure, his former co-host Holly Willoughby also quit the morning television series that the pair had hosted together for 14 years.
The mother-of-three has since continued to host Dancing On Ice, however, with Schofield having been replaced by Stephen Mulhern.
